Where did you and your car go today

My wife said she wanted to go for a drive so I said I'd take her to Calistoga. Got there & asked if she wanted to go some more. "Yes". So said we'd go to Alexander Valley.
Got there so we may as well go on to Geyserville and get a popscicle for her. We were so close to the 101 that I decided we should do a freeway blast and ended up in Cloverdale without incident other than 'the look' she gave me when I said "Oh, it wants to spin its tires" as we drifted up the onramp.
The wind changed and smoke blew back in and car has a fine white coating of ash again.

Plenty of people out and about today.

I had never seen as much traffic and slow-pokes in the Alexander Valley as there were this afternoon. They were going so slow they didn't have to brake for any of the MANY 15 MPH curves out there. BUT THEY DID ANYWAY! I am glad I did not have to get anywhere soon.

And these are GOOD! Just picked and so sweet they taste sugared. Going to make some jam with them and some super-hot peppers. 'Fatalli' should do nicely this time.

While waiting for the pilot vehicle at 128 I heard the flagger telling whoever was listening about a green Charger R/T. His volume must've been ALL the way up.

That started a bunch of chatter & questions over the air and when we drove by all the crew waved. It was strangely like parade mode.

I say a lot of things about California, but, it's beautiful!! Those pictures of the burned out areas are sad. I feel bad for anyone that goes through that!

Unbelievable 24C/29C humandex today, so took Therapy and the wife for what may be the last 2020 cruise. About 65 flawless miles on her today, shifting clutchless most of the way. No noises, no hot wheels, rear end no longer complaining about turning tight. Hoping we get a few more cruises in, but 7 days of rain coming and won't belong before the white swear word shows up! Which way will we go today.... Home again like she's never failed to in 50+ years. Never skipped a beat or stumbled.. even to 5500RPM ! Not bad for a remanufactured $32 distributor and a 51 year old coil!

Went to Bloomer Wisconsin Sunday. It is a 3.5 hour trip one way, but the pie at Main Street Cafe is amazing. We brought back 5 Carmel apple pies to freeze. We do this trip about every year. Out of the 7 hours of driving we only had about 20 miles of bad roads. Great day and the 65 ran amazing. Hoping to get one more good ride in this fall.

I've been 'unwinding' up & down the Oregon coast this week.
I just get in the car and GO.
No destination (excepting gas stations), no agenda. Just driving around for a couple hours a couple times a day.
It is wonderfully therapeutic.

Put about 350 miles under us last Sunday to get away from the smoke and staying at a great friend's place this week.
Will head back to Firefornia Monday or Tuesday.
Not looking forward to that.

Thanksgiving Sunday cruise. Put about 80 or 85 wonderful miles on Therapy today and while everything ran nice and smooth she has handed me a lot of work for tomorrow. Amazing how much mess a weeping heater hose fitting at the pump makes while cruising the highways at 60 MPH. Trees not quite full colour yet, but things look amazing in the "hood" !

The wife and I went out for a cruise today. Tree colors by the house were better, but the open road was a blast.

I'm sitting at red light when I see this little orange crate coming up on me. Light turns green and he comes by me giving her hell. I look at my wife and she's ready before I drop the hammer. This picture is about 3 hundred feet out and I'm on him, by 500 feet I shut down along side of him and he turns to look at me like he saw a ghost. Small block Chevy and I'd say about stock, very nice. We drove about 150 miles, a/c cranking out ice cubes. Stopped for dinner at a sports bar and got greeded at the parking lot by a group outside under a roof watching a game. Car guys are the best, they treated us great and opened up a spot special for us!!!! What a great day and my wife loves it too, doesn't get any better than that!!! Let The Horses Run!!

TODAY! We are going home. I wanted to meander through the mighty redwoods & drive thru the tree in Leggett but it has been pouring down rain and that place will most likely be a mud bog. Still pondering that though...
