The Springfield Ohio ANG birds were A7s in the 70s and 80s to early 90s and then they went to the F-16
What a great story of an Australian made Mustang. Here's a picture of when it was first recovered after years of abandonment in the Emu desert after being exposed to atomic bomb testing, and how it now looks. Incidentally, this is also serial #1, the very first Mustang that was built in Australia. Thanks for the link, Pops.
Post WW2 Spanish built ME109's with Merlin engines. These aircraft flew in the movie "The Battle Of Briton" in the late sixties. The lot was aquired after the movie, along with a Spitfire and brought back to the US, and stored until a few years ago when the collection was sold off. These three videos are from that owner. He gives a brief story on these aircraft. He got them in a trade back then, and now pocketed millions. Enjoy the story...
