Hi all, i just started up my Dodge after correcting the whole mess with erraticly mounted pistons (see thread here: http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/mopar...Help-please-are-these-pistons-mounted-correct )
The engine is a 400-512 stroker with about 9,6:1 compression original castiron 902 heads and a Comp Cam Xtreme Energy .488/.491"
It is converted to EFI with a Megasquirt 1 system controlling only fuel at the moment.
I am using the same sparkplugs as last year when it ran quite well even with the pistons in the wrong way but when i started it up now it ran rough during warmup (expected).
The problem is that once it was warm and i tested to set the timing (with vacuum disconnected and plugged) to about 14-20 degrees it ran well idling and a little revving to about 1500 rpm for a little while.
After about a minute it started to go very poorly and the afr value went very lean (probably because of unburnt oxygen in the exhaust). It sounded as it didnt fire on all cylinders.
So the question is: do the sparkplugs have wrong heatrange? I have ACDelco R45S mounted now and they worked last year but i figure the plugs see more heat when the pistons are mounted right.
Im grateful for any input.
