1964 Plymouth Savoy Build

Installed the steel braided brake hoses to the lines with new clips I purchased at MATS over the weekend. Also installed the clutch adjusting rod I purchased there as well. I got extra KV hose for the fuel hoses but ordered the crimping type clamps rather then the wire ones. I'm hearing the crimped ones are period correct for 64's. should have them next week.

The carpet kit from ACC came yesterday, purchased it from Rock Auto like somebody suggested and got it like 40.00 cheaper. Vacuumed and cleaned the floors. Laid the carpet out in the sun to soften up and lay flat. Based on what I've read on here that's it's very important to have the vinyl foot pad lined up correctly and the shifter hump so I laid the carpet out in the car and got the right position for the gas pedal and the foot mat. Then found the holes to the gas pedal from underneath and marked them, took the front carpet back out and cur the stud holes for the pedal, then put the pedal through the carpet holes and traced the raised section on the gas pedal bottom where the studs are with a marker. Then cut the rectangular section out of the foot pad but only the pad and not the mating.i then reinstalled the carpet and lined everything up again,I wanted to make sure the pad sat flat on the floor and not going up the tunnel then mounted the gas pedal. From here I'm going to cut the holes for the bench seat brackets and mount them with the carpet in the right spot. Then once it's laid out and held down on the floor I will go around and trim all the edges. They said carpet is tedious and timely which it is but to get it right that's what needs to be done. Taking your time because you only have one try to mount it right.lol!

Ok still doing the carpet on 2nd day. Used my soldiering gun to melt holes in carpet where front seat brackets mount. Worked really nice and made clean perfect holes with no unraveling of carpet stitching.

Finished mounting the carpet today. Installed the new door entry moldings, I got those from Joe Suchy. Trimmed the carpet and installed the kick panels. Mounted the grommet for the high beam switch. I will trim the carpet more along the firewall after I install the steering column.

Purchased some angled shelf brackets that are stainless steel and re shaped the end of one and made mounts to mount the MSD behind the glove box like Moshers does on his cars.

Put the rear 1/4 panels back in with the plastic moisture barrier and mounted the rear arm rest with the ashtrays lol! I don't plan on smoking in the back seat. Also reinstalled the rear seat backrest and cushion. I'm waiting on the window crank washers before installing them.

Got a high torque denzo starter motor and installed it with the dual starter cables and starter relay harness, had to modify the cable mounting bracket to clear the block. Fits good.

Installed the KV 3/8 fuel hose from the feed line to the inlet of the fuel pump and used crimp style clamps. Also installed the 3/8 KV hose on the fuel sender with the crimp clamps. I'm going to get some 5/16 KV hose and put it on the filters and carb lines with the 5/16 crimp clamps
