1968 Plymouth GTX

This is the mess of a wheel I have in my '68 GTX:

Yeah - and I've apparently missed the boat on the wood wheel I want so badly.
Those things are like gold anymore...
I really regret selling my Signature car. It had the 440 hp, 18 spline 4 speed, dana 60 rear, rally dash and woodgrain steering wheel.
At the time it seemed selling it was the best option, now the thing would be worth a small fortune.

Fred's got the 440 and the 18-spline - all part of my decade long budget redo.
The 8 3/4 is a "new" 489 case SureGrip, so I'm not concerned in the least about it.
Now it's down to getting a clutch I like in him - and doing something about these demon-
posessed drum brakes.

Thought I would share my Splash Shield rebuild.

Here's what I started with:

I need to disassemble the support to work on the upper and lower chrome pieces. They are bent up pretty bad and will need straightening and buffing.

Hard parts to find.. Your look pretty good for a starting point, I've seen much worse saved & turn out beautiful...

Passenger door in freshly sprayed clear:

I will have to cut and buff this one later, as I still need to get the hood painted before the weather gets much colder.

Sprayed the topside and the hood inserts:

Anyone have a source for the plastic gaskets that go behind these inserts?
Also need the screws for the 440 callout inserts. Yes, they need some work.

In the DMT description it says the plastic '68 style gasket is not reproduced, but the '69 style gasket will also work on a '68...
Okay, thanks.
I doesn't surprise me as there is a lot on this car they do not reproduce or if they do, I cannot afford it.
