1969 Road Runner facelift

Just a stupid mistake. I sure didn't destroy anything but I did make a few pits. like I said, I know better. That's what makes it hard to admit.

I guess i got in a hurry and just overloked it.

the car is coming along steadily dave. as for your carb question do you still have an original intake manifold the part you have pictured is what you need it is held into a half moon shaped divet on top of the manifold by a bolt, some aftermarket intakes dont have the accomadations for that part. As for your welding woopsie ive seen a lot of different glass polishing kits out in the auto parts stores maybe one of them will remove your burns. dont worry ive been there myself as a matter of fact with my gtx i had my glass up against a wall about 4 feet from my car when i sprayed my bedliner on the bottom side and wound up getting overspray specs all over my glass, took me hours with a razor blade and steel wool to clean them off (i'll never make that mistake again)

this is where it mounts into

Thanks goat, yeah I can see where it is supposed to go on the intake. my intake even has the bolts in place, just missing that thermal choke actuator.

Makes he a bit cold blooded

Here's another question, Not that I have any immediate interest and I may never be interested in doing so but... If I were to change out the intake and carb someday for some performance pieces like an aluminum dual plane intake and maybe a demon carb, will I mess up the fit/interface between my original air cleaner end my air grabber hood?

The wife took notice of 2 things she declaired as "grand discoveries" yesterday.

this dash light...

And this reverse light...

So... everybody might want to check their mopars for these wonderful options... lol!!

Well.. the damn fenders fell off... actually no, they didn't fall off. After removing the 4326 bolts that hold the fenders on, they were removed. As well as the doors.

Maybe bacause as I was working on the car yeaterday.... Her and my youngest boy were dogpiled in the front seat taking a nap!! When she woke up, those wonderful discoveries were right there in front of her!! lol!!

Looking good as always Dave.....Nice to have a crew to help you out..

Well, the boy anyways..At least you have confirmation of a dash and reverse light.

Good stuff! I feel like I'm watching a good family oriented sitcom when I flip through this thread accept for all of the drinking!

Weekend is almost here and I'm undecided on what to do. I was thinking I needed a break from the car as the work was becoming "non fun" But the bit of help I recieved from my son last night sort of breathed some fresh life into the project.

We have a little cabin out in a forest area that we like to go to as a getaway. I was considering taking my 2 boys out there this weekend with a couple of ATV's and doing some exploring of some of the state forest ATV trails. Experience spring time in the forest, all that sort of thing. maybe some campfire type stuff with the marshmallows etc...

Cabin is "off the grid" meaning no power, no running water, heck the cell phones don't even really work out there except for maybe a txt message every now and then that makes it through.

The other option is to continue work on the tin chicken with my oldest son through the weekend.

I'm keeping an eye on the weather right now, we are supposed to get hit with rain that is making it's way up from the south.

If it looks like we may stand a chance of some spotty sunshine saturday then I will take the boys to the cabin. If it looks hopeless as far as the weather goes then we will stay home and work on the car out in the shop.

Her and the daughter are going shopping. (which means get into a car and drive for several hours to the nearest sizable town that has more than 3 stores)

So either way, Saturday will be a boys day.

Dave it rained like a mofo down here this morning, had an inch before I left for work. Sure its heading your way...Sorry!
Its good to take a little breather from the projects once and a while.

Here is a pic of my helpers last summer. They were out running threw the water sprinkler, they came into the garage to help me sand out my wheels. Mom made them run threw the sprinkler before heading in to the house because they were LL1 dark turquoise poly!

Have a great weekend!

Hey that's awesome! Helping dad!!

I bet they lay claim to the beauty of those wheels still today lol!!

I remember being that age and the older guys let me "help" on the never ending weekly repairs and mods on an oval track stock car we ran down in Glyndon MN at the raceway.

It's really a big deal to the kids when they get to work on dad's cool and important stuff.

How do you like my new back glass removal tool? :)

The boys and I are at the cabin, using my phone for internet.

just catching up on your progress dave.looks a whole lot different. It's nice to have "helpers". what they think is fun to them means tedious for you to do.
