1969 Road Runner facelift

I just read my whole project from page one and I feel like a spectator, that's how long I've been out of the groove on this car.

Shame on me, What happened?

Well, record heat and humidity happened along with other work I guess. But I really need to start attacking this project with my evenings after work again.

We're getting to the time of year where I need to turn my attention to our hunting land/cabin prepairing for fall hunts. Plus i have firewood to cut and put up, and many other projects.

My spring time run at this project was my best bet. Looking back I got a lot of work done in the time I had but if i was a couple years younger I know I would be driving the car right now with a nice shiny coat of bronze paint on it.

Note to self, old man in hot sticky summer time no good at getting things done quickly.

Hey Dave, no worries, I too enjoyed reading your thread, and, the good thing is it still lives, even as you gather firewood to live in the cold *** winter up north. I suppose I have NO excuse down here in TX where it's workable year round except a little bit in the winter where it can get down to freezing for a few days or so, but most of the time it's way too hot, right now for me it's 100 in my shop daily in the afternoons -- and I am usually working on customers projects vs. my GTX project; which is a must to pay the bills etc. But, work continues! Looking fwd to more posts/pics!

My weekend is all planned out for me.... and it doesn't involve the roadrunner at all

But I really want to get back into this project soon.

I have terminal ADD.

My interests are many and I drift from interest to interest with the seasons. :grin:

Deer hunting is less than a month away and I have lots of work to do out at our deer camp to prepare for the season.

I have a wife and 3 kids that all hunt as well as friends and relatives that all head to my camp for the season. I like to try and have everything really set up nice for them all and it gets to be a little work. (but I love it)

The tin chicken will migrate into my spray booth to save space in my shop, I will keep working on it this winter and post updates. I suppose I could post an update on the amount of dust that has settled on the car these past months lol! :grin:

I've been deer hunting for a couple of weeks and I'm heading back out to camp from work today later this morning for the final weekend of rifle season. Then next week I'll dust off the muzzle loader and take to the woods with that for a couple weeks. :grin:

I spotted a bare necked tin chicken in my shop this morning as I got in my truck to leave for work.

I'm developing a bit of an itch to get to working on the ole boy again.

Hey Dave,I've been following your thread and am glad you decided to go with the T-7.My '69 Sport Satellite is a T-7 car with a black vinyl top.I think it is a great color.I've been working on mine for the past couple of years and currently have it completely stripped down and up on the rotissourie that I built.I would have never dreamed it would take as much time as it has to get it to where I am.At 50 years old and living in Alaska,theres alot of outdoor things to do on top of trying get work done on my car.Throw in work and things take a while to get done.Good luck on your hunting trips and I bet you will come back refreshed and ready to get back in the middle of your chicken.These long cold winter days we have ahead of us are great for getting out in the shop and spend some good quality time with our beasts.Keep the posts and pictures coming.

I feel like I been drug up and down a mountain behind a horse on a 30' length of log chain...

I started Nov 5 with rifle season opener, I'm now into muzzle loader season....

Hunting is poor, it's not what it used to be, but that's a long story.

I hope your deer season is going or has gone better than mine. :grin:

I'm still at it for 2 more weeks then I'm going to rest up and think about some tin chicken tinkering.

Mayflower, I'd love to see a picture of that T7 sport satellite.

Hey Dave, Keep at it. It will happen if you want it too. Too many of us just dont have the time needed for our projects. My 68 RR been goin on now for years also, but I hope to get it done by April 2012. Deer hunting in Maryland has been pretty good so far . Got Firearm/Shotgun season now . Took 4 bucks and 2 does this week. Also 2 bucks 4 weeks ago during Muzzle Loader. Check out The Golden Rottiserie Chicken thread.

Sorry to hear about the not so good hunt Dave...Not that great around here either. The totals were up this year, but like your neck of the woods, not like it use to be. I ended up getting a doe this season, but nothing really to write home about. Never the less, at least this year vs. last, I can put some venison in the freezer.

Hope to see you rolling on the tin chicken a couple weeks down the road....

hi guy new girl with new 1969 r/t

we found a 1969 rt in a barn up in NH

so far we ran the numbers and it looks like its all original 440

so the next year our so we will bring this baby back to life

any thoughts on how much this is worth in as is condition?

Well guys, we spent about 7 hours cleaning my shop yesterday and I found a 69 roadrunner out there under all the mess.

I also found a 69 plymouth 4 door parts car not too far from home, I'm thinking it might be worth picking up just for the front fenders but there's bound to be other goodies on the car that I can use.

Would they be the same on a 4 door?

I'll check it out and let you know if they are any good and if I get the parts car.

He says it's heavy cause it's got some kind of big strange engine with the plug wires going right into the valve covers.

Should weigh up for some good scrap money I guess.
