My 62 Dart has 6 leaf, rear, springs, on both sides. -- It sits too high, and I would like to lower it 2", possibly a litt more. -- Any suggestions re removing leafs ? -- Tires are 235-60-15s -- Probably will change to larger.

Looks like it's sitting high for a reason. I can't tell for sure from the picture, but are you going to have tires rubbing on the fenderwells if you lower it? Bigger tires on the back may require different backspaceing and rim size.

I had Superstock springs in my '62, sat way too high so I used lowering blocks to bring it down.

Plan on 8" steelies. They allow more back spacing, than current wheels.

In my opinion it's to high. My question is if you lower the rear will the tires clear the fender wells. I can't tell from the pictures what the rear suspension looks like.

I will have to look and see what my tire sizes are, but they are as big as I could get and not scrub on the inside or outside of the fenderwells and allow suspension travel.

for me that's bout 1.5" too high in the back.. looks like the rear tires will stop it from being lowered though :(

what i do is measure the distance of the subframes to the floor or level pavement. i prefer stock ride height which will generally be equal distance from front and rear subframes to level pavement. i think your rear wheels have too much off set to accomplish that.

I have changed wheels and tires -- now have 4-1/2" B S -- no problems, with hitting -- still looks too high.

Steelies are the same back spacing as I, now, have -- 4.5" -- I do not have the painted Torq Thrusts -- changed to new ones - gray centers - and different back spacing, than before -- still looks high.

62s have a narrow rear, iirc the narrowest (is that a word?), and the springs are the same length as an a-body.
One can fit gigantic wheels/tires under them.
Hard to tell, but small, big, bigger in the pics.

Both sets of steelies I had on my 62 were 15one set with 3.25bs, one with 3.5bs, both fit fine with 275/60s.

That is the way to go right there. Thye make them in all sorts of sizes from 1/2" on up. Stance is a son of a gun to get just right. Still working on mine.

That looks great, mine is bout 1" too high in the back but i can't lower it or i will rub (maybe, i could but would be too close) I did move my axle back 1.5" though.. centered a bit more.
