I have a threshold of what I'm willing to take on. I don't do body and paint, and I don't rebuild engines or repair trannys. I just want cars that I do basic maintenance on, maybe swap some parts, and get in and drive. I would have loved to get that car for $15k without the issues it has. I was prepared to go $18k if it was nice, and up to $20k if it was something special to me. I don't want it for any price in the condition it's in. Once I determine a car is below my threshold, it's off the table for me at any price. The buyer of that car will either have a plan to repair it or get it repaired, or it will be a first and only classic because of some connection to the car. With a half dozen old cars to drive, and limited ambition, I don't want any serious projects like this Satellite.Well, you got something out of it!!
I think that was a $10-15K car. Let him sell it to someone else.
