69 Coronet 440 project

Great looking project! Just had the same kind of fun picking up my 69 Bee down in Swift Current but without the snow.............bringing them home gives a guy the goosebumps! The white was rather rare in the Coronet's I understand so kudos on the panel score!

Looking good John. Coming together man. I can smell the weld fumes from here.

And burnt arm hair! :fart:

Come on John, Your doing great man! I don't think i would worry about the quarter panel, looking at everything else! nope, I DO understand the air though, I fight it here all the time and afraid im going to need a new one, mine is super slow anyway but i can deal with that as long as it stays running but its been warning me lol, keep up the great work bud, you'll get it!!!

Thanks Ron, I was looking at a few commercial grade air compressors on craigslist the other day. If I get one of those I'll have to wire the garage for 220v, which wouldn't be a bad thing, it's 110v now and blows fuses whenever it feels like it. I bought a breaker box to put out there a few years back but never got around to installing it, but now seems like a good time.

so without being able to waist endless hours on the internet, how come the car isn't done?:grin::grin:
your work looks great!

I'm pacing myself :sideways tongue:

Nice job on the floor 61, little by little it's coming together.

Thanks 7 I still have to figure out how to get all the sand out of those nooks and cranny's in the frame rails.

Im real good at blowing fuses, or breakers i guess,, but if im paying attention im ok lol....

Looking good man! that floor is coming together nicely, you'll be slingin' mud before you know it!

Thanks Speedy, I was out in the garage tonight with my boy talking about how the car is turning out. As we looked it over we figured out that there are just 3 more rust holes to contend with and they are all on the A-pillar on the drivers side. After that there is what looks like some weak metal on the front of both rockers that I'm pretty sure I'll be able to patch. Slowly but surely and one piece at a time seems to be working. :)

That ride home sucked but at least it got home in pieces LOL. It took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about, (the interior panels). Yea that was a nice find. I wish I had more money when I found those. His basement was full of Super Bee interior and exterior stuff. Thanks for reading.

Right now with the lights on I can run the compressor or the welder but not both and if I run the blast cabinet I cant run the vacuum to suck the dust out of it.

Not ashamed to say the same thing, I can run the lights and the welder or AC, How long? most of the time it works, its when im tired or about done that's when it happens, i think sometimes the wife is running things in-doors, its a car port with 12-2 wire extensions, it wasent' meant for a garage just if we needed something, maybe someday ill be able to do it right but right now i do what i need to do... I put the thing up just for my wife's car, she wouldn't use it so, i decided to use it to my benefit, what the hey....

Floor looks fantastic John, keep up the great work. Sorry to hear about your compressor.

Thanks NZ my compressor really is too weak for what I'm doing with it. When I'm working on the Coronet the compressor never shuts off, so it gets HOT!

Looking good! What color you going with again?

Hey Leo, Color????????? that changes every hour. I like the idea of white but I've never owned a flashy car other than my faded orange 74 Ramcharger. So I might go with flash and paint it purple or red or yellow, I really like the bright blue of the new Ram. I'm so undecided and don't get me started on wheels!

How about Seafoam Turquoise?

How about Seafoam Turquoise?

No more like this color blue. The seafoam turquoise just sort of sits there. If I saw a newer Mopar in that color I wouldn't give it a second glance and I want the color to pop. Then again, ask me next week and I'll probably love turquoise, it was my dads favorite color. When I hit the mega millions I'll just buy a 69 Coronet in every imaginable color with every imaginable wheel and tire combination. That will solve everything. :tongue3:

That blue will look real nice with white interior. I thought about a late model color, i love that burnt orange on the new chargers, but I'm still old school at heart and stuck with EV2! Wheels?, no brainer, 15" steel wheels with red lines lol.

Like Speedy i've been in the market for a GoPro camera. Yesterday I found a good deal on Hero 3 black on Craigslist, so I bought it. I really can't believe how small these things are. I can close my hand around this camera and completely hide it. It's that small. It came with a remote control, suction cup mount, a monopod, a head strap, and all sorts of smaller mounts that I have no idea what they do. My first thought after buying it was "Lets make a video!" so here it is.

Thanks Ron, and don't worry about the sound, it's a quiet video. I literally bought the camera went to Best Buy and got an SD card for it, mounted it in the truck, turned it on and started recording. What you're watching is my trip home from Best Buy. I had no idea what the settings were, how to use it or even if the battery would last all the way home. It's a cool little camera and I'll be using it a lot more.

You'll get it John and i hope you have a lot of fun with it as ill be watching for videos now of that Super Bee, Maybe im jumping the gun but something tells me that ole girl will have that special stinger stripe.. Im hoping anyway, i think it will or would be cool, if its anything like wheels or paint color, our minds go back and forth making those decisions! Later bud!!! :)

They are pretty cool for sure and now we have a face to the name.

And a voice lol. My kids are already getting sick of me recording everything, I recorded a trip to 7-11 just cause I could. :director::glasses9:

The Coronet is officially going to be a 6 Pack car now. Look what I just bought.

6PackIntakeNew_01.jpg

I went to Mancini Racing to pick it up. I was there years ago then the counter people looked like hippies at a love-in. They ended up moving to a different location and I never had the opportunity to go back. Mancini Racing only exists online the place is now Detroit Performance Center and they sell performance parts for all makes. Unfortunately they only order Mopar parts when needed and don't stock much so now they're just like every other parts house.

I spent the bulk of the day today getting the yard ready for my favorite holiday.....HALLOWEEN! My daughter Allyson just informed me that you can see our house from about a 1/4 mile away hehe, my work is done.
