70 Roadrunner restoration

I agree - great work TDawg. Keep up the good work! I just replied in another thread about breaking the work into small jobs and celebrating as each one gets done. If we keep our eye on the final goal it can seem so far away, but you get there faster it seems if you do not concentrate on that, but rather on each small job. Little by little, the progress adds up, and it will be awesome when it is finally all done.

Looking forward to more progress pictures!

Here is another one to cross off the list...

100_0706.jpg100_0707.jpg I've been plodding along when I've had time.... work has been busy this year, but still making progress...

I do admire the work you are doing, I can imagine how difficult and mid boggling it can be at times! Wish you the best she is looking good!!!

Great work T! My mopar love is torn between 70 RRs (I had 3 of them many years ago), and the 68 Charger project I'm doing now.

I KNEW you were one of the good guys!!! You still love the other equal side which is, ROAD RUNNER side of B-Bodys! Im the same having a CHARGER and still loving them, wish i had one, and maybe will someday :) I want a 71-74 not the older but love the body style and still would settle with a 66 or 68, 69, 70, had a 67 and loved it! Im one guilty of loving a whole bunch of these Mopars, its a habit, disease, whatever but oh well :) In my defense... Im nuts, wife says it all the time!

Wow. Significant work and progress on the rear - it looks great and I also give a big thumbs up on the frame table!

I bet if feels great to turn the corner and start welding on fresh new metal!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. The frame jig took a little while of head scratching to come up with... I just wanted something that I could level the car on and support for panel replacement. Oh, and frame rail replacement once I found rust holes in them ....:angryfire: Have I said I hate rust? lol

100_0418.jpg100_0710.jpgThis is what soaking in a Molasses/water mixture for about a month will do to rust.... it worked pretty good...

100_0719.jpg100_0720.jpg Trunk pan marked, and 230 holes drilled for spot welds..... guess what I'm doing tomorrow? lol

I can't remember where I saw that, but it works pretty good for marking!

100_0721.jpg100_0722.jpgFinal fitting and welding in.... ran out of wire halfway through... seems I have done that before,lol...

Now that's some serious progress from my last visit which wasn't that long ago. Your doing one hell of a job on that Bird and your work is looking very professional as well, congrats on the serious *** hauling! Love the jig too

Thanks 747mopar. It took a while to figure out how to jig it so I could remove/replace the frame rail pieces without moving the jig. It seems like all the little things that you have to mess around with don't show much progress, and then you get to a point where you put a few parts on and BAM... well look at that... that looks much better!:D

Very nice. What size hole did you drill for the plug weld?

Did you have to do much work to get the quarter paned extensions to fit tight to the trunk pan? Mine are a mess with big gaps.
