70 Roadrunner restoration

Thanks, Hemirunner. I drilled 5/16" holes for the plug welds. I did have to do a bit of work to get the trunk extensions to fit. The AMD panels didn't have a 90 degree bend in them, so I hammer and dollied them to 90 degrees, and then clamped the crap out of them.... they co-operated at that point, lol

100_0724.jpg100_0725.jpgTrimmed the old crap off the tail panel and did a test fit..... it fell right back in to the exact spot...sweet!

Looking good. I don't know which is worse, cleaning up an old part or stripping the ecoat off the AMD panels!

I think I would rather strip the ecoat off the AMD panels, lol

Buddy that looks terrific!!! I will be welding in my shock tower here soon and then i have to do the same as this and it's always cool to get a look from a fellow Mopar guy doing the same! Everything looks real good, even that welder that looks familiar :)

Beautiful Dawg!! Your work is looking top notch. There sure is a lot of spot weld work when building these babies. That is one of the major areas mostly wrapped up now. As usual, nice job.

looking very good there ,love watching your build :headbang:

Thanks for the support, guys! I was wondering..... Did the people on the assembly line get paid per spot weld? lol.... there are enough of them!

Looking great. You're making faster progress than I am. Did you buy the reinforcements to put on next?

Thanks Hemirunner. I'm not sure what you mean by the reinforcements, could you elaborate?

Sometimes working on the car felt like this....:buffer: LOL!!!

Sometimes it feels like that a lot!!! :) of course there are the better days sometimes slow in coming but! lol

Ah.... of course. I think I will be re-using the originals, they aren't in too bad of condition :) They will be going on soon....
