Anybody running two batteries? (does that even make sense?)

Is anyone running two batteries?

My friend was saying that he wanted to place another battery in his trunk. He would end up with one in the engine compartment and one in the trunk.

Does that provide any benefit or just add weight?

I don't understand the reasoning, unless he's racing it without an alternator. Still then I don't think he'd gain much. I thought batteries were required to be in back on the track.

only with a diesel....they have 17 to 1 compression....not for the street

If he has equipment he will be use with out the car running and have it charge when running
