Hello everyone,
I recently tore down a 383 that had broken motor mount ears. Oddly, the engine had these #516 closed chambered iron cylinder heads.
I do not know the value. They have the bigger exhaust valves and have been rebuilt with at least new valves and springs. I do not know anything more than that.
I'm guessing that these may interest some people on a budget. Few people are willing to spend a lot on the iron heads given that quality aluminum heads are available.
I'd appreciate opinions on the value, as I may bring them to a swap meet or list them for sale at another time.

Thank you, Greg.

A couple years ago, I couldn't hardly give away the set of stock ones I had.
Eventually, a fella offered $100 to come get them. Done deal.

I sold a set that had the 1.74's installed and decked a bit for $350 I think a couple years back. They were running fine when removed.

$100 each. Not a bad head but to make them like new takes hundreds of dollars. Even more if you need seats or valves, or new springs for your cam etc.

Check to see if there is any pocket work behind the valves. Could add to the value.
