I'm wondering who everyone is using to insure there cars, I've been getting some quotes and there all over the board $951 high & $268 low

1966 Belvedere $35,000.00 Value

What are you guys paying

Thanks for your help

State Farm. I was paying Approx. $120 year for my '64 Max Wedge Belvedere appraised and insured for $40,000.

I use American Collectors. They were recommended by my regular company (AMICA) which is top notch in my book

I'm currently with Hagerty. Originally had it insured for $9,000. After a year they recommended bumping it up to $11,000. I forgot what I pay because I had a couple cars insured with them at one time, but I want to say between $120 to $300. I know they will insure up to $20,000 without sending someone to look at the car, you just have to send them two pictures. If more than $20,000 I believe they have to send some out to verify that it is worth over $20,000.

I got the best prices from Grundy Worldwide.

The car can be unfinished and used every day, just not for work, must have lockable garage and proof of a daily driver.

Insured my 74 Duster & 79 Magnum for 4G @ $116 yearly. 1 picture was all that was required for the Duster/Magnum

The important thing not mentioned here is the TYPE of policy. Agreed value, stated value, market value... different animals. Depending on what you want, premiums can vary widely. Just because you insure it for $xx,000 doesn't mean that's what you get necessarily. You wont get $40 k to fix or total a car that's only worth $20k fair market value on that type of policy. Do your homework. People don't read their insurance policies.

I have been with Hagerty (agreed upon value) for almost 12 years and have 5 cars insured through them.

another thing is your age will affect how much you pay as well. i tried through hagerty and for me being 27 and married for my 69 gtx wich my agreed upon value i left at only 10k since im not done yet, anyway it was 260 a year for me but yet a friend who is in his 40's has his 70 cuda valued at 25k and his 76? runner valued at 10k both for only 330 a year.

i was denied hagerty due to a driving offense that comes off in 1 more month, they want 5 years clean driving.

I went with American, I have everything else covered with State Farm but my agent said all they had was a stated value policy, not agreed value.

I have an agreed value policy with State Farm. The value is stated right on the policy. Currently my '68 Coronet R/T has an agreed value of $59,900 stated right on the policy. Typically you need an appraisal and the insurance agent will have to take current pictures of the car to verify its condition.

Once I lived in a small town in Illinois and my State Farm agent told me that State Farm didn't have insurance policies for collector cars. He lied to me, because when I moved to a larger town in Illinois, the first thing my agent asked me was "Why don't you have collector car insurance on these cars?" I owned 3 collector cars at the time. Maybe your agent didn't know all the policies that State Farm offers.

I will double check that, it may vary from state to state.

I called my agent today, I was told yes we have collector car insurance and I was advised of locked storage use at shows and parades and so on with a limit of 1000 miles a year. It is cheaper than my American policy which give me 2500 miles. I was told I would need an appraisal for value purposes and so I asked, this must be an agreed policy and he said no, its stated. And he double checked. If you have agreed it must be a state by state thing.

We have country mutual ins. for the 280Z and mustang with agreed values no miles limits, it just can't be your daily driver. The 280Z at 10K is $100 a year and the mustang at $24k is $144 a year. We just had to sent them pictures a pay $15 a year to be a farm bureau member.

Thanks for all you comments, I ended up going with Barret Jackson endorsed
250/500 Full Tort Option for $235 per year

I'm 50 & Married........This company matched my current daily driver policy with Erie, So I feel confident in case there is any issues,
