Don's 1969 Charger Restoration

I thought he said it actually made the welds better, "x-ray quality".. That's an idea!, wonder where I can get my car x-rayed. Good info guys!

Looks like a pretty neat product, wonder what prices are like ?

eastwood sells the bloxide primer...... much cheaper than aerosol cans...... a quart lasts for ever, i bought a gallon cause i do this stuff for a living

Does this mean we might actually see a Charger soon???? Good pointers on the Epoxy primer, I used PPG it sanded pretty good but I still took advantage of the flash time and sprayed the whole bottom of the car to avoid all of the prep work. Have fun with those F$&#^*@ valence corners!

Ahhh yes, the corners. I remember those...............
You too Barrs..... O GREAT! Something to look forward to!

Looks like some great stuff and even though the new is better by far, ive sure seen worse old ones lol You are on the right track for a road side cruise! That firewall looks just about new and ready, pretty cool parts you grabbed!!

Don I had issues with the deck lid filler panel being too narrow. Compare new vs old widths. AMD was able to compensate me for the descrepancy since they knew the part was off. Look at my thread 4 the fix.

Thanks for the heads up Paul. I will check this!

Looking really good there Mopar4Don . . . now would be a great time to de-hump the outer-inner wheel well if you'd like to stick a big tire under it ! ! !

Love your work and thanks for the updates ! !

Looks awesome Don! I have a lead on a 69 RT a guy passed away in the late 80s/ early 90s had. His wife moved it to the back of the property and there it lies so I'm told, the guy who is finding out the address for me was there 10 years ago and picked of the stainless trim and at that time someone had pulled the factory engine and robbed the front fenders and grille. If it is there and intact and price is right project XP29 will come to a hault essentially before it starts. The annoying part is I drove 6 hours each way for the xp29 and this rt is no word of a lie no more then 5 min from my house :angry9:. Oh well, sorry for the jack can't wait to see those quarters on there Don! :headbang:

Mine was narrow at the front, I've seen some cut down the side of the bend, open it up and weld the gap shut to close the gap but I just hammered the bend over a bit. Good luck

Mine was too narrow as well. We were able to flatten out the drivers side and rebend the flange in my brake.

Thanks 747 and hunt. I figured when I get to this I would have to go back and look at your resto threads and learn!

Don, being relatively new here I just found your thread. Holy Cow!!! Incredibly talented and the patience of Jobe. Fantastic work and great pictures as well. Thanks for sharing. You are indeed an inspiration to us all.
