Don's 1969 Charger Restoration

Well you could always get it embroidered lol!

Ah I remember your A pillar now.. looks like the vinyl top really did a number on it. Normally I'd be leaning more towards fabbing some patches, but yeah I could also see replacing the whole A-pillar possibly being an easier (relatively) route depending on how bad the roof is. :shruggy:

May not be much left of the original car but it's awesome you're bringing this one back from the very edge. I'm sure all the hard work will pay off :icon_thumleft:

You're doing a great job Don. And here I thought my car was needing alot of love, but you got me beat. Keep chugging along.

Ok, I'm tired of looking at these nasty rear frame rails

Where did the car go? :icon_scratch:

Holy crap that's a lot of surgery going on there! Nice work!!

Made this locating mount for the rear frame rails.
It has a 1" inch diameter pin extending out and locating in the spring mount hole

Good thinking, I would think locating the front and rear spring hangers would be the most important things. Your going to be one proud owner when it's done with all the work you've done after all, you will have built more of it than the factory did "sweet".

x2, good idea and great to see your progress Don. I'm really excited to watch this one come back together

Thanks 747 and speed, I have put a LOT of time into Just thinking about how to go about separating all the different panels!
When you have never done anything like this, you really tend to over think things, at least that's how I go about it.

O.K now you've entered insanity, what's left? Maybe it would be easier to just tell us what your are reusing. No, seriously that's really cool going to that extent to save it. Not being to far away maybe our paths will cross sometime because I want to see it when it's done, Mopar Nats some year?

Wow !!!! I'll be watching for tips with my car. Soon I will be getting into the metal work. Thanks for the great updates!!!! Your going to have one sweet ride when she is done......

Your very methodical in your work .I would say that the work you are doing is going to make this car last for a VERY long time! Protecting all those internals is something not many get to do.
you must be a real expert in spotweld removal by now?
keep up the great work Don

Thanks for the trip down memory lane Don. However I think you went a few more blocks down the road. Great work!! Keep it up.

:huh:wow a lot of work there and I would say he is going further down road it might be around the block ,thanks for the updates :headbang:

I can say I'm definitely learning how to brace a car from reading you're thread. This reminds me of the radiator cap repair technique. Step 1 remove radiator cap. Step 2 replace vehicle under cap. Step 3 replace cap. Is there anything that is still original left on the car? LOL. You really are doing a helleva job keep up the good work. Like 747 said, it would be cool to get together one day when the cars are all finished. Maybe at the nats.

Looking good, Don. Like someone said about my car: your car is lucky to have you.

Whenever you guys get yours done we'll have to get three spots together at the Nats unless more join in "the more the merrier". I shouldn't say "you guys" I still have to finish mine. That includes you to Ron, you can can catch a lift with me from Ohio in the Charger if you like.
