Green stripe part time project

Feeling a little guilty !
I can't believe it's been almost a year since I posted anything here.I have worked on the car a little, but not as much as I would of liked.Lately I've been trying to locate parts I knew I needed and get them bought when I can.
There are some things I've learned that maybe you're better off sending out for rework, instead of doing myself because of time or the small hard to find pieces required to finish the job.One case in point was the 3 speed wiper motor. It's just a little armature and brushes right? How hard can that be! Well if you don't do these all the time I found out you can spend a lot of time trying to find the right wire insulation.
I started this rebuild to have something nice to drive with an oddball color combo, and now I catch myself getting too picky on the work I'm doing.I will try to get some pics out and catch up a little if anyone is interested. DSC01048.jpgDSC01086.jpgDSC01085.jpgDSC01169.jpg

DLevel, we're always in the mood for any and all pictures you want to post. Hey, as long as you're parts chasing, you're staying ahead of the game. Get what you need then you can show us what you did.

Hey thanks for the response.I will just have to make time to get this car done, and post up some updates when possible. Was feeling like I was using the site for info and pics with no contribution and thats just one sided.
Here's the progress as far as the body goes last time I pushed it outside,to clean the garage.I was able to rework my original back finish panel and taighlite assemblies as they were in pretty good shape.20130825_165310.jpg20130825_165203.jpg

She looking good! Time will get it right, patience is hard sometimes but a useful needed tool for the car hobby i think...

dam dl, that car is gonna be freaking awesome when done, keep up the good work. more pics

My rear finish panel just had small dings and faded paint, so I thought it was best to re-use instead of buying a refinished one. When I first looked at the reworked ones at the Nationals I thought the price was way out of line. After adding up my costs on mine I guess the savings were worth it.
A local guy that used to work at a chrome shop I use, smoothed out the panel and finished it somehow. The stripes were painted on by the shop I use in town for my business decals.
Here,s a before and after picture.DSC00831.jpg20130817_164735.jpg20130817_164725.jpg20130817_164712.jpg

i dont think its oddball at all, i think it is an awesome color combo. the work looks stellar...keep posting DL.

As tight as everything fits inside one of these ac/heater boxes,it's hard to believe there's still room for the crap I found!DSC01092.jpgDSC01096.jpgDSC01109.jpgDSC01117.jpg I picked up a NOS vacuum delay switch this week for the bottom of the box,and now it's finally done.20140321_204214.jpg20140321_204134.jpg20140321_204109.jpgHopefully I can get this installed in the next week

Sure doesn't look like there is room for anything at all inside there. It turned out real nice.

My 67 coronet 440 is slow speed operations... I'm restoring as I'm stripping down the car and have it to the back seats except for the dash and glass I just do it in groups and have 3/4 of the car in boxes stacked in and around a 10x20 storage I can barely open the 4 doors I have a pallet for a work bench that fits between the front innerfenders with the motor out.

looking great Dlevel. I like to color combo, different but that's a good thing. Keep pick coming.

looks awesome, I was so nervous when putting my car back together after final paint. love it

Hey guys it's been so long since I've worked on this thing I'm hard pressed to remember a few things!
These three spacers were on my work bench with my wiper motors and heater box stuff for the last 6 months. Can anyone tell me were they go? I would like to believe they go on the studs sticking out of the firewall were the wiper motor mounts,to keep from over tightening ?20140326_175928.jpg

I know this off subject a little but thought some of you might enjoy. This is a 451 street engine we did for a Chris Snyder. Its a twin turbo street engine for his 67 Valiant. He recorded this as we were dynoing it here at my shop. your cars looking great. those bushings are for your wiper motor. they go on the studs before the motor is installed.
