Haha, it was truly not planned, but both my daughter and Barry's wife have commented on the tent as well!

I've got no style, so I'll take all the style points I can get!

Thanks, that sounds like fun. We'll see how tomorrow plays out and hopefully we can make it there.

Today, we made it to Barry's daughter's place and dropped off the dog and the extra car. Now we just have the Road Runner, so no backup any more!

We drove through some rough weather. Trust me, the car is NOT show clean!

From there, we drove to the racetrack in Atlanta and got checked in.

Our hotel is a mini car show. All types of cars. I'm sure tomorrow will be really cool!

My car is parked for the night, and tomorrow we will head to the racetrack and experience our first day of the Power Tour

Hawk, the car show this morning was in memory of my buddy who helped me build and dynoed the stroker motor. I was telling the guys at the show that my old engine was on the power tour.

Please tell his family and friends that he has my deep respect. It's a great engine.

I promise to care for it and enjoy it. And I'm sure it will command respect too! :drinks:

Hey Hawk, what’s that on the side of your car or is that something in the photo?View attachment 1478184

Door ding protectors?
Yes. They are magnetic protectors that stick to the side of the car. With lots of car folks around, it is less of a concern, but you never know who'll suddenly park right next to you at night.

By the way, the red Dart in the picture is powered by a straight 6 out if a Toyota Supra. It puts 510 horsepower to the rear wheels, and I watched him do autocross. He was fast!

The variety of cars there today was amazing! Just a couple pics...

You’ll all be impressed with the airplane car. Got a Coyote swap on a minivan chassis. We were sitting on the other side of the track watching drag races and they ran it. I was thinking, will it do a burn out? It did. Then I thought, is it going to get out of its own way? It did, went down the track hanging with a 392 Challenger. On the return back everyone in the stands was applauding. You just never know.
@HawkRod - Still on the look out for ya.

Not sure how to highlight my car more!

Seriously, hope to see you at the fairgrounds!

On our way there, but not getting there fast!

The drive seemed to take forever. That one little town had paving going on, not sure how many got caught up in that. I think we left around 7:45, one gas and pee break then a BBQ joint 15mi out. Didn’t get there until 2’ish. I hooked up with a little convoy with about 8 Vettes from Jersey. Had the hammer down for about 20 miles or so on I-20. I did find your car this afternoon. Didn’t look like there were any oils slicks underneath it.

Like @69L48Z27 said, it was slow going. But we left from the official start at 8:30ish.

I also have to apologize to @Charles Cook
When we got there it was so late that another member was just getting ready to leave. We rushed over and caught him and then I got caught up in getting "validated" and such. I just had a "senior moment" and missed contacting Mike. I'm bummed out because it would have been fun to meet. By the time I got back to my phone, Mike had left. Sorry - I screwed up. :(

I was just out of sorts and even missed thinking about getting any pictures - didn't set up the car either, just parked, threw open the hood and left it.

I think for today we will try to get to the venue earlier and have a more relaxing time there.

My first tour: I'm learning! :poke:
