I think I may have just found my 68 Charger!

Personally, I'd be happier if he said a 10 footer, but yes, please throw up some (full size) pictures later on. Congrats.
I agree....His 25 footer may be my 40 footer......I highly suggest to post some more pics before clicking send!

My vote is to proceed. The 'footer' scale is too arbitrary and has no real reference. Any B Body under 30 grand is far from perfect. I think The Rebel knows this as fact.

I disagree and when noted from an inspector...It has reference...I do not see nothing Wong at all for him to post more important pics from the inspection to gauge opinion prior to dropping $$$....

All we are trying to do is to protect a forum member from a mistake or a good choice.....Once his 30k is gone he is stuck with this car.....

Hey guys. Appreciate your concerns and comments. The owner & I have agreed on a sale price of $26 (was orig $28). I offered $24 for it and he turned it down as someone else had already offered it, so I upped it to $26 and he agreed. I think he was also tired of people calling & showing up and tire kicking it. He's Armenian and I know Honor is a big thing with people, so I thanked him for his Honor & such.

I know it needs work but I'm tired of looking and now have an extra $2,000 in my pocket to pay for the p/u & transportation. I don't have the photos yet & the video will not be available until the company releases it to the general public. As soon as I get the photo's I'll post.

Not to hijack the thread, but I never considered the 'mopar tax'. Fellow motorheads at work were discussing this Charger over lunch. One of the guys said "....you know, I used to love mopars, but switched over to mustangs because I hated the mopar tax. If this Charger was a Mustang, it would be offered at $18,000, but you have that $10,000 mopar tax. Even a component, or repo part for a mopar has a $100 additional mopar tax."

Never thought about the mopar tax, but the guy is right. If you want to play in the mopar hobby, you have to pay the mopar tax!

Pay to play.....It is about demand and availability....

Have you and your lunch buddies ever considered production numbers...BIG DIFFERENCE THERE.......I am sure your not including a Boss or a cobra, right? To me those are the only mustangs made the rest are pintos.....

You should check out the hemi tax, I thinks it's equall to a boat tax.

Thanks guys for all of your help, input, comments...etc... After looking for over a year, which I know isn't all that long, I just couldn't wait any longer. Let's face it these cars are in high demand, short on supply & at ridiculous prices. I'm probably looking at 10K in body work, but hey it's about getting out on the road and hearing that engine purr.

Not able to download the pics @ work so will have to do that when I get home tonight. My insurance policy kicks in Monday before the car is even picked up.

Congrats on the purchase,
I hope you have many years of enjoyment from her...

I'll be one of few to offer some more kudos - great buy!
They all have things to make right at that price. Been watching Bbodies very close the last couple years and 28K was right at the market. None of us likes these prices when we're buying, but everything is relative. It's easy to say what you'd pay when you already have one. When you don't, and don't have a buddy Earl down the street with one you can trade for a pack of skoal, then you gotta pay to play. Did your homework, got opinions, got him down, you went about it right. Enjoy!

Sounds like you got a fair priced and reasonably solid car. Good luck with your restoration.
