who did you get the carpet kit from? I have a console that I need it for to put it in my car. do they make the actual peices for the console?
I got my interior from legendary but that was 15 years ago and I didn't have the console then. I know they sell extra carpet to match the floor but if they had pre-cut peices that would be easier.

furyous, legendary has them, and they are ready to put on when you get them. I paid 100 bones for them, and their quality is top notch on everything they make so these should be no different.

Can you say superstock??

Heres the wiper motor, vintage air, and my best attempt of a superstock grille.

now I just have to make some mounts...since they were cut out of my car before i got it.

Rapid, thanks for the compliment.

Furyous, if you have the console just set it on the tunnel and bend some 1/8 sheet metal to follow the contour of the hump, and weld it in. Also weld some 1/4-20 nuts on the inside of the sheet metal so you can bolt the console to your newly made brackets. If you need pics of the originals, let me know and I'll post some up for ya.

Hey Zack I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of the console brackets. Thanks, BTW your car is looking fantastic.

Hey Joe, go back one page and you'll see the brackets.

5.7 that grille looks great. Makes me want to do mine. Did you cover what you did here in this thread somewhere?

Hitit, there is some pics of what I did for the grille way back on this thread, but none showing the actual welding, cutting or fitting. Most pics are of it as I started and cut then tape pieces together then fit to the car. Check it out, maybe there is something that I don't remember right now. But I do remember this, polishing was a pain in the ***.

Here is some pics of the completed grille for that superstock look and the Cap upper control arms that were modified for strength cause I have heard od too many problems with welds breaking, enjoy!!

Hey Zack, are you planning on wetsanding and buffing your paint?

He only buffed the hood and trunk lid. He for got the roof so I'll do it. No wet sanding a single stage metallic, or at least that's what I have read, heard, and been told. The roof doesn't look bad at all, but you can feel the difference between the above mentioned panels.

yeah with a single stage metallic you can sand away the metallic and ruin the paint job. as with a clearcoat becomes a barrier over metallic for better uv protection. and would give it more depth and could wet sand flat and buff to a glass finish

i like your progress. tin whats happenin' with you?

I went with the single stage acrylic enamel cause it most closely resembles the the factory paint done way back then, plus, my budget did not allow for the really good stuff that I wanted, so I can live with this. I figure a few coats of wax will protect it, and it wont be driven (on purpose) in bad weather, also parked in the garage with a car cover.

thats cool there's nothing wrong with the paint job you got. i think it looks great you can ask your painter but hold off on the car cover for at least 90 days. this gives your paint a chance to cure and let all the solvents evaporate out of it keep up the great progress
