late model hemi into early b bodies

5.7 if you need the e-brake for state inspection like we do here in NY, install a line lock with an on/ off toggle switch. That will get you through the inspection. It will have some other uses down the road too.

In California they are ****, but not that ****. I post a pic tomorrow so you can see what I'm talking about. Also need to get a e-brake cable grommet, mine is fubar, but damn things are so pricey, maybe an alternative is out there and I just haven't found it??

Here is the problem with hooking up the e-brake cables. The x-pipe is in the way and I'm struggling to find a fix for it...wont drive it until I have a working e-brake, and yes, I still have some time before that happens. Also a few of the little elephant just waiting to fire up.

Zack you don't have room to go over the pipes with the cables? You've probably tried every way there is, but just asking.

I'll try it..again, maybe I overlooked or didn't have something right.

Nah, no vacation, just trying to get things in order (household stuff). I got to say this....OLD DUDES ROCK!!! My buddy that used to work with me, now retired for some years, same guy that helped me put the engine/trans/suspension back in, came over today and fixed my e-brake problem. I tell ya, you will learn alot of stuff from the been there, done figured it out older guys. Within 5 minutes he figured out the problem, had me make a new bracket out of steel (used aluminum prior), and put it all together and I had a working e-brake. So to all you older guys out there, my hat is off to ya!!!

We bled the brakes, that took some time cause every fitting that I had was not nearly tight enough (stainless lines), once we got those done, I had a firm pedal. Glad I made a new 1 piece line to go from the drivers side front to the passenger side front cause there is no way in hell I could have gotten to it to tighten it up. Also he brought his sons 68 charger trunk seal to see if it would fit, damn thing was about 3 feet short. We just looked at each other and said "thats a big trunk". I'll post pics tomorrow on the e-brake set up.

it's nice to hear your perspective about "old dudes" some many come on these sites acting like they just invented the wheel. truth be known. what they're trying to impress you with, had been done 35 or 40 years ago by the "old dude"

Here is what the e-brake looks like now, it works, and yes I got to tear it apart for the cable grommet and do some trimming and paint on the exposed metal. Also thought I would include a shot of how it's sitting...just some eye candy.

The ups guy dropped off my new headlights and mirror. Both items are going to look nice once installed. I re-wired the fuel pump, found out that 20g wire is way to small, so I upgraded to 10g and aslo redid the ground wire to 10g also. Maybe now I wont hear the up and down sound of the pump anymore. Also started to layout the original harness for the front and rear lights, and only 2 burnt bulbs were found. I'm glad that I got some help coming for the wiring, looks like a can of worms to me.

Well anything more than 3 wires, and I get lost real easy. So best to have help from someone that knows what they are doing and I might learn something.

I'll start wiring next week, my buddy is coming over next Saturday, lets see how far I get!?

David, I ordered one from the local guy, hopefully it will be here on monday or tuesday.

Friggin proportioning valve cracked at a fitting, and now must get a new one. The bright side is I'll get the wilwood adjustable proportioning valve to really dial in the brakes. The e-brake cable works great, trunk lock is finished, got to work on the door locks (66-70 locks have a bigger cylinder so the hole has to be enlarged) that will take some time, fan wiring is almost done. Gonna take the ac hoses down to get crimped then hook those up.

Dash and defroster ducts will go in after the ac hoses are in, steering column right after that. It's going to be a busy week.

Zack do you really want to mess around trying to drill larger holes in the doors for locks? How will they effect the rest of the mechanism? Why not just get the correct door locks? Could be the least expensive alternative.JMHO.

I really dont want to drill out the holes, but I cant see shelling out 1-150 bones for door locks for the 62-65 b body. The only difference is the tumbler is bigger, so why the huge cost?

New Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve installed, and I had to make 2 new short lines and "adjust" 3 other lines, turned out alright. Now I got to re-bleed everything, bummer! Started hooking up the electic to the VintageAir system, man what a mess that I have gotten into, good thing my buddy is coming over Saturday to wire up the car, he can do this wiring stuff in his sleep. Still waiting on Legendary for the console carpet. I see the light at the end of the tunnel, cant wait to mash the loud pedal and smoke the tires.
