OK I started the process of breaking in the cam. However, due to a few issues the engine never ran more than about 5 minutes tops.. I did this 3 times so approximately 15 minutes total run time. Then I realized I had low oil pressure. But quickly shut the engine down. I primed the piss out of the engine prior to starting it. I turned the drill counter clockwise and rotated the engine. Drill bogged down and I had oil to the rockers. but no pressure to the damn gauge. Assuming it was an air pocket in the line i popped it out of the gauge and re-ran the drill till it filled the line. Then buttoned it up and started it again. Rockers were ticking.... Shut it down AGAIN.. Dropped the pan to make sure the pickup tube wasnt clogged.. It was in good shape. Then I pulled the timing cover off and discovered I MISSED THE BOTTOM Galley plug completely. Got it plugged but decided to pull the main caps.. Only did 1 through 4 left the rear one in tact.

So here are the pictures of the main bearings.. Need advice if they are still good to go or replace. I didnt think they looked too bad No gouges or deep scratches..

You’re this close, replace. IMHO

Funny I guessed this same problem on another low oil pressure post and someone said there would be no oil pressure at all? But you said you had oil to the rockers when you primed the engine so you had some pressure? If it was mine I would check the oil and filter see how much metal you have? I would probably replace all the bearings as well and inspect and check clearances on the crank and cam. I plan on doing a engine this winter and I know I would be very pissed if it was to happen to me so I feel for you! Good luck!

The crank looks good I think thats just shadow and curvature. Nothing Blue..

New main bearings ordered as well as rod bearings.. So it begins.... 211.00 fuckup.

The bearings are speedpro bearings.. Bought in a kit from Summit. And who the hell is Todd?

OK thank for the heads up I will keep them in mind for future parts.

double check all plugs to be safe. sorry for your issue but better now than later.

Thanks.. First engine build of this magnitude.. Initially I thought that hole was for the oil pump rod. I guess thats what you get for not knowing..

we all learn the hard way. the fact that it didn't blow up is good news. problem is more money spent that you don't want to do. you will laugh later after you get it back together and be proud of yourself for getting it done.

Lol true It ran soo smooth for the first 5 minutes.. But i started noticing issues.
Shut it down...

Yes.. And the parts usually get here pretty fast since summit is 30 miles away..

keep us up to date after you get it back together. i know its going to run great.

really like that test stand did a great job.
