Meep's 68 Road Runner restoration

Holy Cow meep-meep . . . your progress makes me look like I'm standing still on my project ! ! !

HA! Thanks goes to Mike at Muscle Car Alley (in Oregon). If left to my own devices it would still be collecting dust in my shop!!!

Well meep-meep . . . I'm still working on mine myself and it still looks like I'm standing still on it . . . they've made great progress and it's looking great ! !

Congrats, moving right along.

Meep-Meep, Glad to see your starting the RR. Nothing like saving another one. I'll be watching this thread for sure.

Good to see Alex. I remember that car on the centerline wheels so well. Always parked in the driveway. Like, always parked. Or on the trailer headed to sears point. That's the extent of it. Man the memories

Looking good Meep, great progress on the resto. Are you going back with a vinyl top?

Yep, vinyl top going back on including hood blackout and pin stripe. Just like it left the factory. Slot mags like the day I got it but they will be 15"

Hopefully no more sitting in the driveway!!!

Great to see the updates brother. These cars look great with or without the vinyl tops I'd definitely put it back on and will do on my 70 when I get to it. The R/T is coming first though.

Some nice looking work happening on the car Meeps. Seems you have found a good body-man to sort out those ripples. Good to see such a solid looking floor-pan and clean under-body - sure makes the job a whole lot easier. :headbang:

Yeah, I told Mike that working on my car will be like he's on vacation. The only major piece of sheet metal he replaced was the left front apron and that was to repair damage that was done long before I got the car. Oh, and the hole in the floor that some idiot HS kid cut to put in a 4 spd

Engine compartment and roof painted today.

It's painted!! Now apply undercoating following the factory pattern and a few other detail items and it will be just like she left the LA plant in 1968. Mike has been awesome to work with by doing exactly what I wanted, which was to follow the factory painting procedure as reasonably possible. And that includes all the minor body defects that were present. So far it looks like the only procedural difference between the 1968 LA assy plant job and the job from two days ago is Mike wasn't stoned or frying on acid when he painted it.

WOW, that looks phenomenal Meeps! Love the photos. Can't wait to see it again in person. And thanks for donating the small cut-out portion of this car to repair the driver's side fender apron in my own '68 Sport Satellite engine bay. It'll give my car some good mojo for sure and I think that's too cool!

Very Nice Meep-Meep . . . what a great Christmas Present too ! ! ! !

Very nice and I'm glad to see a white 68 being done

Looks great

Ya know, I've been noticing a deficit of white Road Runners. This one is a décor package car and came with hood blackout, vinyl top and accent stripe (1/8" pin stripe).
