Meep's 68 Road Runner restoration

Wow meep your car looks awesome, do you know what kind of paint was used for the black out in the hood?

The hood and grill black out look awesome. I crack up every time MA does an article on a car that doesn't have blackout they make a snarky comment. Not on yours!

Wow Meep!!!!!!!!! It's been a while since I dropped in, you've come a long way since then and the RR is looking fantastic. Congrats, bet your just chomping at the bit to start bolting parts on it.:headbang:

Sa-Weet! Nice Patch !!!

I'm really happy for you brother I can only imagine the feeling of having this come together after so long

Meep, the car looks fantastic! A bit of black and it is starting to pop!

Now, I don't know what wheels you are planning for it, but I think a set of Magnum 500s or other dark wheel would look awesome!

When I got this car in 1982 it had slot mags on it and I was planning on doing the same but in 15". At present I can't seem to locate a nice set of vintage wheels so it might get whatever is easily available. This, as well as all my cars, are day two builds because IMO the world doesn't need another 14" x 5.5" steel wheel hubcap Road Runner. Here it is right after I got it. And even in this very early pic the original hood is gone. I traded it away for something because the car also came with an air grabber set up from a wrecked 69 and that's what's currently installed.

The car is looking great Meep. The best part is right around the corner imo - reassembly. Sure is cool that you have been holding on to it for 33 years and now it is getting the attention it deserves.

That's so cool that you've held onto the RR for that long. The 69 Charger that I had in the 80's had the same slotted dish mags. Wish I had held on to that car.

mag 500's! lol any wheel combo will look good with a white car, too bad I sold those old slots that came with mine I would have just given them to you.

You putting the vinyl top back on?

Recently found more old pics of the bird. Going this weekend to view the new paint in person for the first time and bring her home!

Just out of curiosity, what's the story behind the '69 hood in the 5th pic down?

Post 91 may help..
. You guys with the 68 Road Runners are the first to enjoy the first generation of birds, It would be unique and cool as it gets if we, who have these birds could get together, somewhere! (IF we all ever get them done) the first three generations on the Road Runners are the best of the best from Ma Mopar... MHO and i stick with it..
With the Dodge side, it is the Charger for sure.. great cars both...
