Meep's 68 Road Runner restoration

Meep, the car is looking great! Incredible progress already!

I used to not be a fan of white, but I classify white similar to yellow or Limelight. Those colors do not work well without some contrast, but when you add some black to contrast them they look super sharp. I am digging the white look with the black top and stripe!

Crap - you are catching up to me fast - I better get the lead out... (smile)

Cut, buffed and undercoating applied.

Hey Alex, Mike just gave me the heads up yesterday that you had a restoration thread going, what a cool surprise to see you're on here. He's been a ton of help coaching me along through the work on my Charger and it's cool to see some of his work on here. Your snowbird does look great in the pictures, but nothing quite does it justice like seeing it in person! Don't worry, I didn't get any drool on the fresh paint haha. Looking forward to meeting ya whenever you come our way to pick it up!

Yeah I was surprised that you were on here and I recall you as an active member before this interesting connection. Mike has been great working with me on this and to preserve all the quirky details that were on it from the factory. I'm looking forward to meeting you as well.

looking good meeps. i like that pic of the right side from back to front. she pretty straight.

Latest updates. Paint is 99% done!!!! Just shoot the organisol hood black out and pin stripe. Now to get my arse in gear and get the running gear together and take the whole mess to OR and install it. The idea is to bring the car home as a roller. Crap, I might actually drive this thing soon!!!!

Great body lines - looks fantastic!

To me, white is a color like Limelight or Lemon Twist. They are almost too much just by themselves, but once you get a little black to offset them, they look absolutely awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing this car come together!

I like the painted undercoat on the the undercarriage but only in as far as matters. I have been struggling with what to do with mine under there and your pics help. Thanks Meeps.

Looking great, white has always been one of my favorite colors, when I restored my GTX 20 years ago I almost painted it white but decided to go with what it was born with FK5.

Thanks for the good words folks! I insisted certain details of the car stay as close to factory as it can get, and since much of the info was present on the car, it's wasn't hard to figure out how to recreate it. Just mix up the paint and go. Working with Mike on this job has been an absolute pleasure. Graveyard who????

The latest. Grille blackout, hood and trunk painted and hood blackout applied. Seeing that hood blackout pretty much hit home. I haven't seen that in nearly 30 yrs.

Holy cow!
Looking better every week Meep-Meep!
That old Roadrunner will be going "Meep-Meep" sooner than you know it!
Great job!

I feel the same way. I like the look of a painted undercarriage but will go in the direction of undercoat as well.
