My Coronet project

WOW Swede, absolutely outstanding!! that's gonna be one slick 'net! Really looking forward to seeing it assembled and a victory burnout video or two. Great job! :eek:ccasion14:

Looks like it turned out great. Must be a satisfying feeling to be to this point. Can't wait to see it with all the trim installed.

Just picked up the car and drove it home, parked it safe in my garage and told the kids they will NOT enter the garage without me.
Will start with the vinyl top on saturday.

Looks great sitting in the sun. Just a question, don't you have to let the paint "cure" for a certain time before you put on the vinyl or has it already?

The car has been baked in the oven in 150 F for an hour or so, I think it is OK to rub it up with a scotch brite scour pad to make the glue stick, the paint feels rock hard.

A minor update, started with the vinyl top, much more work then I tought, had to be realy careful not cutting to much, delivery time for a new top is over 3 weeks...
Almost there now, will have to move two clips for the wind shield trim, the seam landed right over the holes for the clips.

Also put some sound and vibration damper on the floor, most for fun, had a pack and had to get rid of it.

Starting to freshen up the dash, got a new cover for the pad and will spray on some new paint too. The old pad is cracked up and hard as a rock, wanted a new pad but the cost for shipping one overseas where to high, this cover I got came with the car.

Thing is looking killer man, excellent job on that top. Not sure I would have had enough patients for that.
Don't worry on that dash pad, even being a hard cover it will look great.

And if you wanted to unload that sound deaden-er you should have just shipped it to me! I actually want to use some of that stuff. :hello2:

Great work on the top, I will be doing a white one on my roadrunner this spring, hopefully very soon. I've heard stories of them seams wanting to land right on the screw holes for the trim clips.

Looks like your top turned out great, did you brush on an adhesive or use a spray on type?

Funny you reference that link. I read that one on saturday.

Really good write up.

Vinyl top done!
Headliner done!
Freshen up the dash with some paint and a new cover for the padding.

Getting closer, I do have some problem with the drip rail moulding, with some violence I can barely get it in place but at the A-pillar the seam from the vinyl top is way to fat. I just don´t know how to solve it, any ideas?

Way to go Swede!

Can you cut away any material from the back side (glued down side) of the seam to get it to fit nicer under the drip rail?

I certainly sympathize with this since I hope to be dealing with this soon myself.
