My Coronet project

15-20l of red color paint there Swede, looks very sharp and awesome! Inspiring!

Thanks Donny, I guess we all inspire each other, without this forum it would have been a long and lonely walk.
I remember when I got my first Mopar in 1987, a 1970 383 Cuda, once in a month a carmagazine came out with ads, early birds got the best parts for sale, than it was just to wait one more month... Now days you get all help you need at this forum, no matter what you ask about, cars, paint, girls, you name it!

Heck, everything I learn about girls was here thru the cars, babes, and the blue forum.

Have to agree, along with valuable info on some great work done here in these resto threads.. love it! Ive learned more here with metal work and fab, then a book could teach, from this Coronet to 4-door conversions, RR's Chargers ect.. its all hear and don't get any better then this, true pros here.

After seeing the condition of that trunk before you rebuilt it, I am thinking you could just start with some sheet metal and a welder and just build a whole car from scratch next time. I think you could do it. I remember seeing some guy building a full sized Lamborghina replica from scratch in his basement quite a while back. If I remember correctly, he had no driveway access to his basement and had to excavate a driveway and cut a hole in his basement wall when he got done.

Found the link.

What an awesome job you have done ! Wish I had a quarter of your skills :)
I bet you do have the skills but you just don´t know it yet!
I have been doing this for 25 years now and I can asure you that the first projects I worked with is not something that I will tell my grand kids about, but we all have to start somewhere and we all have different skills, I do know that painting is NOT what I will do for a living.
And pictures can lie, I am not aiming for 100 % like some cars here are, I don´t have the funds, time, skill or patience for that, car looks OK and it will be a nice driver, but it will not win any prices.
Hopefully it will be of to paint after this weekend!

Swede, myself like many others here have been seeing your progress on this car from the beginning. The work you have done on it is nothing short of phenomenal. Don't know how much more your painter has to do on your car before he sprays it but it doesn't look like he has to do anymore than prep it. They say the paint is only as good as the work underneath it, if so your car will look awesome when it is done.

Very good point! Never know until a guy actually goes out in the garage and gets his hands dirty trying, and putting in the effort.

Can't wait to see your Dodge Shine....It's been fun watching the Coronet come back to life on your thread, but really looking forward to seeing her all dressed up in paint.

A usual all text are lost in cyberspace so here comes a new version.

Got some paint on the car and started it for the first time in 2 years, runs great, no leaks, charging 13.2 volts at idle, sounds great through the flowmasters.

Life is good right now!

All that Red paint on the undercarriage looks amazing swede! Really got me dreaming :)

Still looking good as always swede! I can't wait to see it painted and assembled. From what I see it will have better fit and finish then Mother Mopar ever gave it.

I drove the car to the paint shop one week ago, looked like a ghost car!
Shifted real nice to second and pulled strong, can't wait to drive it "for real"!
Have been busy with my new job, will put up some pictures when I pick up the car in one or two weeks. Until that, take care!

You're teasing us now.

Drove by the painter yesterday morning, approx. 50 % of the work is done, will visit him again on wednesday, hopefully the car is in primer then ready for shooting the top coat before next weekend.
It is a helluva job, glad I did'nt tried that by myself...

I've prepared a victory drink in readiness of your Dodge being painted Joakim........I don't know how much longer I can hold it off. Things got some sort of tractor beam or something

Well, I am sorry it took so long Will, but a couple of ice cubes will do the trick because the car is finally painted!!!

I will pick it up on monday after they have mounted the doors and hood back on the car.
Car is really looking great, a top notch work from the painter, all the lines are perfect, I will take some better photos next week.
