My Coronet project

Got some photos of the rear end, I know some of you out there like this car **** so here it is:
Kept the old bearings, just cleand and regreased the axles.
It is pretty easy to work on it when it is not under the car, all threads have been cleand and got antisieze, got a thrush spacer installed to adjust the end play. The only thing missing is new drums but they are on its way.
The clamps have been blasted and they are also adjusted to fit perfectly in the holes, don´t know if they warped during blasting but they did not fit right away.

That yoke looks like something I had here and I bet you have 3.91 gears in that rearend....

Do you mean this one I bought from you? It's going into mine 68 GTX.

That must be the new Eaton you got in that picture?

Hey, what can I say...right country, wrong Swede! Glad you got them home!

Got myself a small usb camera from China and took it for a tryout in no 1 cylinder, works OK, not like something a surgeon would buy but for 15 bucks...
It´s got 4 LED lamps that is adjustable,

A minor update, ran out of welding gas and decided to try my new vinyl paint for the old white sun visors, I spent lot of time cleaning them from Armor All and all other stuff they have used on these parts for 40 years, finally I took a 400 grip sanding paper and rugged the surface. The result was really good, time will tell how they will look after using them.

I also color matched the arm rest bases that all the chrome was flaking of from, wet sanded them and first primer and then bodycolor, mayby it will be to much but then i can always buy new re- chromed ones, this one is worth a shot, will break off all the black in the interior. With the padding on they look pretty nice.

Also made a new try with the wiper motor, it seems that the linkage is stucked, is there anyway to remove it all without taking down the dash? Will put in new seals too.

Looking good swede....What wiper motor do you have? 3 Speed? To take off the wiper motor, first fold yourself into Gumby...Under the dash, remove the locking clip where the arms meet at the linkage arm of the wiper motor. Looks like a washer with a tab that comes across the middle, with a small lip that retains it in place off the pin sticking out of the wiper motor linkage. Under that is a plastic cam, remove that. Remove the two arms off the linkage arm. Unplug the harness for the motor and remove the three nuts off the studs holding the motor in place (under the hood). Pulling the motor out can sometimes be a bit of an angle game. Rotate the linkage arm/motor till you find the sweet spot for getting it out.

Good luck.

A usual all text are lost in cyberspace so here comes a new version.

Got some paint on the car and started it for the first time in 2 years, runs great, no leaks, charging 13.2 volts at idle, sounds great through the flowmasters.

Life is good right now!

Looks like all that hard work has paid off, absolutely beautiful car!

Yes, and everyone here on the forum thread that follows is part of the success, some days are harder than others to go out in the garage, but every hour counts in the end and it's just to work on.
Without the aid of pictures and words of encouragement would have taken much longer to get here, I can admit that it was sluggish when I started taking down the car and it was just rust wherever you looked.
A special thanks to those of you who sent me pictures via email and to you Kent that provided me with hard to get parts!

Next post will be when the car is driving out of the garage, it was my New Year's resolution this year and it will be fulfilled! (#209 on page 11)

Take care and keep up the work!
