Nz 70 rr

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Dash frame and steering went in early in week.

Got the engine painted on Tuesday and today it and the 4-speed went back to where they belong. Took us 2 1/2 hrs and when smooth enough.

Better and better every time I see it. It looks like there might be video on the horizon soon. :)

Damn that car is looking good! I am digging that new top and dash, everything is looking top-notch.

Keep up the good work and keep the pics coming. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments fellers.
Yes a video may happen soon .
Only drawback of new parts is that the old original ones are made to look scruffy.
Time will tell dickdale, will look at heater box this weekend. I really don't want to take the engine out.

After talking to Monroegtx I decided to have a go at my Headliner. Have followed his advice and the video on his thread and all going well so far. Hope to finish tomorrow.Need to trim excess material at back, glue the front and then glue the sides.

Have cleaned , painted and fitted the Starter motor, dizzey ,coil and clutch Z bar. Have re-taped the engine harness.

headliner

Headliner in and looks great, give it 8/10. Deducted one point because I used glue on the inside above the side windows. Thought the trim would hide it but no. Still very happy, thanks monroegtx for the incouragement to give it a go.
Got the heaterbox in, that was a relief.
Got some trim and moldings fitted .
put the big feet back on the rear, looks more staunch.
Added more bits in engine bay.

tony, you are getting closer to that bird on the road great job.tony did you add the insulation under dash?

Thanks guys, yes i put the insulation back in moparjohnny. I was very careful when i removed it.

I've evidently been away for a while, nice work! Sure is coming together quickly now and looking really sharp too.

NZ, That really is looking fantastic! I hope when the time comes, and i do have days i wonder if it will lol, But i might want to bend your ear on getting the headliner in..... So much to do but its things like this i think about a lot! Great job, she looking sweet to say the least bud!!!

Cheers guys, hope you had a nice Christmas.

Got the gas tank cleaned and fitted. It had a big dent but was able to get 80% of it out by filling the tank with compressed air.

Drilled and individually fitted the rear screen trim clips. Had to bend them in the vice.Moved a couple of the ones on the rear sides so trim fits without strain. Spot of sealer and good to go.Got all the trim polished and ready. Trial fit went well.

Great progress! Nice to see it coming together, and as black gets added it makes the car look even better!

Glass is in. Guy took 2 1/2 hrs, front screen took 2 goes before it went into the rubber but trim went on easy. Reverse for the rear , glass easy, trim on sides real tough. Was a holiday cash job, sure glad I didn't attempt this myself.
Test fitted the side glass and have cut out a parcel shelf and cabin /trunk divider.

Wow. Kicking goals now Tony. Be sure to test for leaks before covering everything up.

Seat Covers!

Hope Tony doesn't mind me posting on his thread!

Here are his seat covers - they arrived at my house as I am helping him "compress" the shipping package to make it a bit cheaper to ship to NZ.
Box arrived in nice shape - always a good sign!
IMG_3729.jpg

Lots of extra room inside - this I what I need to compress!
IMG_3730.jpg

Front Seat #1 looks good - seams look like they will line up, and it passed my inspection.
IMG_3733.jpg

Front Seat #2 looks good - seams look like they will line up, and it passed my inspection.
IMG_3734.jpg

Back seat looks good - seams look like they will line up and it passed my inspection. (By the way, it may look like the outboard seams do not line up in the picture, but they actually do. The seat covers don't just want to lay in the proper orientation on their own.)
IMG_3735.jpg

Now I am being picky, but the only MINOR gripe I have is this panel. It seems it has just a fraction more material that the other side does, so there is a slight ripple. I am all but certain it will go away when it is stretched over the seat frame, but I figured I would point it out just in case. If for some reason we had to send something back, it is easier to deal with it here in the USA than from NZ! For reference, you can see this panel in the picture above as well, it is the seat back, second panel from the left...
IMG_3736.jpg

I hope your right Hawk, after you stretch it over it "should" be ok, but like you said, ya wont know until its done...
NZ, i get envious as everyone watching the work you do, wont be long and ill be out of updates to read/see with you, unless you carry a laptop while your headed down the high way! Looking great! :) I think they did a good job on your glass, something maybe ill need to think about, im used to doing it all myself with things but sometimes your ahead of the game letting someone who knows what there doing do it!
