Nz 70 rr

Thanks hunt2elk and Propwash, many hands make light work. Hard to believe that I have had the RR for 1 year, time flys when there is lots to do. Yes I am looking forward to getting some color on the body. We have so many wet days lately so no chance to get primer and filler on. Hopefully after Easter.

Fill begins

Got some filler on today. Will get the Long board on to it tomorrow.

looking very good thanks for sharing :headbang:

Been a while since I checked in and wow your moving right along, looking really good. Congrats

Barry done

Barry made his final visit till I decide what to do with the hood. He finished welding the trunk lid, we then fitted the hinges and fitted it. Took some time to get it to fit, in the end he made a cut along the rear of the passenger quarter and welded it . This reduced it's lenght and the trunk lid lined up great. Extra effort worth it.
We then went over the doors and front guards to get any last bumps and then gapped them.

Finished day with Barry giving me a lesson with a Air Orbital Sander to remover the top off the filler, lot easier than the long boards. Will have to buy one and only use long boards when I get to to final shaping.

Filling and sanding. Covering the rust pit holes and weld joins. Got a thick coat of epoxy over the fill on driver quarter and on the new AMD passenger quarter. Driver quarter shaping up well, am hoping it will only need fine tuning after next sand. Psger quarter needed 2 hollows filled.

Sand/prime/sand, keeping me busy. Got some sound deadening on the inner rear quarters and hope to get some underseal chip protection in the wheel tubs.

Got up early (6.30) and phoned Legendary Interior in New Jersey ( 2.30pm), ordered my Black Vinyl Top and Black headliner. They should arrive here in NZ in around 10 days. This was the 3rd time I have purchased from them and great service as usual.

-looks great and happy to hear of a Mopar coming back in its place man!

Borrowed a underseal gun and did the rear wheel arches and outside corners of firewall ? Will do the insides of the front guards in next couple of days. Used the white colored option as I will be painting vitamin C orange over top.

Thanks Propwash. Have used 2 different products, Terroson and Mipa, both sandable and paintable. Ran out of Terroson and can not buy it locally, Mipa is looking good but seems to have a firmer ,drier feel to it.

Day time photo, have decided to cover a few more areas that are vunerable to stonechips.

color

Had some paint mixed, Vitamin C ( 200ml), wanted to see what it would look like on a panel. Quickly sanded primer on a door and blew some color on. Very happy, photos make my painting and the gloss look better than they are. Full steam ahead, can't wait to get more color on.
