Post your 10 second combo's

It's been kind of quite in here so I thought I would look for some feedback on why my car has slowed down some. run in the 10.7 range with a best 10.706. Now it's running closer to 10.9. Granted the temp on the 10.7 run was a cool saturday morning 57 degrees open headers. the last run was last wed. a nice calm night warm 74 finishing around 72 and mostly calm to light tail wind. I thought yes good night to try to get some nice runs in. So it ran 10.850 10.89 11.089, 10.93 10.918, 10.935, 10.926, 10.949, 11.089 So the plugs are new the valves adjusted tight ( I did readjust them a tad looser this week to see if it changes) everything else is the same I did jet up 1 jet from 90 to 91 after my last wed run I pulled a plug and it looks really good. So hear I am what's your thoughts drag racers? Oh yes my 60' has dropped as well I may look into some shock adjustments as well.

Canyon

wind direction in you face or frontal anyway, even side wind

Tires going away, how old are they ?

track conditions/prep

shocks & maybe air pressure setting for warmer track conditions

tune variances, too fat too lean

parasitic drag somewhere something wearing out, slowing you down

motor ring seal or valves to seats contact/seal etc. going away/losing compression power
Have you done any leak down tests lately ? if not you should regularly

Do you have a weather station & tune/jett accordingly ?
weather & track prep can effect it that much easily

just spit-balling, could be a combination of all the above too

Well most of that will remain a mystery let me respond: wind yep Sonoma usually has some winds due to proximity to the bay. 2nd Tires are great as a matter of fact the tires are my favorite 31.25x11 PHOENIX tires WOW bite hard 9.3/4 lbs. 3, Always in question unless sanctioned racing. 4 thats is good 42 lbs 6" Morsco 5 Well we all strive for perfect and seem to settle for pretty close I guess there are so many things you can do. I just recentally change jest 4x 90 to 4x91 ran better as the night cooled. The biggest thing I did was after last weeks way off runs I was what did I change to make this run in the high tens. the plugs I installed had a .40 gap running behind a 7al-2 MSD and I adjusted the valves ( BINGO) I needed to look there so I proceeded to recheck all of them after the poor time earlier in the week. I found them much tighter than I had measured earler. So I readjusted all of them again much looser. I do have a small weather station and record all my runs on my computer using crew chirf pro software.
But I am home early tonight from the rece track and heres what happened. After making those changes I warmed up the car and first run 1.42 60' and a 10.76 on my next run got a bad burnout I was being called on sound decibles so I didnt get a good launch the next run my 60' was 1.45 but, at my first shift the trans went away no 1st 2nd or 3rd nothing just park. So right now as I type this I am thinking what the best plan should be. Anyway it went like a rocket tonight and then right on to my trailer. Thanks for your thoughts Budnicks always appreicate your comments.

You run a trans brake correct? My bet is you stripped the front planet on the output shaft. The other possibility is that the belleville spring broke in the rear clutch causing it to jam and burn up. Either way easy fix. On my sons trans we replaced the planet with a steel part from A&A. On mine I just consider them maintenance and replace the stock part when they start to bind when sliding them on the output shaft during assembly. He runs high 9's with a trans brake at 3775lbs, mine 9.0-9.1 footbrake at 3350lbs.

That's one sweet RR. Wish mine had the balls to lift the front end off the ground. Looks like a great pass.

thats a sweet car. I have a set of Strange 4.30 gears in my garage and once I get the tranny repaired I think I will run them.

Nice going Wookie. 1.46 is a nice 60 for your car. Looking good as always. Ron
