Post your 11 second combos

While I agree some porting would have probably picked it up some....... the other side of the argument is........ how much quicker would you expect that combination of parts to go?

The 11.18 happened in less than stellar air...... so on a really good day it might have run closer to 11.10........ with some porting, probably would have dipped into the 10’s in good air.

It was turning 7100 through the lights on that 11.18 pass.
I was just fixing to ask what you were hitting at the lights....WOW!
What have you done to the bottom end to keep it together reliably?

Very nice. Good looking car too.

What is your track altitude? Do you know or have a sense for what the density altitude was on that day?

Thank you, my Satti makes a good job. The altitude is 300 feet, temperature 95°. The track is very sensitive and get slower in the afternoon. Depending on the trap speed, the car should go faster, 60 foot time need definitely attention. I race the car only once a year for about 8 runs.

Which Track? Hard to imagine getting to 300 feet elevation in 180 miles when you're starting in Switzerland. But I'm pretty ignorant about geography once I leave my back yard.

Nothing really too special about in my build.
Mostly just quality machine work.

Stock 400 cast crank, still externally balanced, stock rods with ARP bolts, trw 2315’s with some valve pockets put in, and the pin fit opened up to just over .001.

Stock 100,000 mile oil pump with the “stiff” spring added to it(80psi going down the track).
MP 187 oil pan with stock windage tray.

I made 119 dyno pulls on the motor before it ever went in the car.
Probably 100 of them to 7k.

The combo I was using in the car was about 485hp.

It's the Hockenheim track. The Swiss elevation is between 6oo and 12500 feet. I live in 1300 feet elevation.

Something to admire with those old TRWs & cast crank! Awesome!!!

In the day my spare 440 was an LY rod TRW 11.5 piston motor. Ran it with several iron head combinations. It was only .3 to .5 slower than the best low deck 452 I had built. Old stuff works if the machining was good. Both my 906 & 915 heads were ground to the max. No pushrod lump, offset rockers. 7000 RPM motors. Hard on stock cranks. The heavy TRW held up very well.

Stock 1968 440 6-pk motor, +Team G intake, 850DP, hdrs+ a big SFT cam put it in a 3300lb car that hooked ok, went [email protected] 1990.

Hey I know you ! LoL. I knew this had to be someone who knows his stuff for this combo to run so good !! Ron

He probably knows. He's a head porter.

Just the best head porter on the entire east coast and maybe the best in all of the United States. He knows his sh1t. Ron

What a great opportunity it is to have Dwayne’s input over here! He’s one of the guys over at the other board I frequent that I read every post I see from him in the mere hopes that I can suck up some of his knowledge. I hope you’ll be a regular here, Dwayne.
