project R/T

Here's the chanel and seal area I need to repair too. Along with the piece I took from the Belvidere.

I was able to put a couple of coats of primer on both sides before the neighbor got back home. Now I can see some of the smaller imperfections that I still need to address. I still need to pull off the front bumper too. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now

It only posted the first picture I added for some reason. Here's the other side. I only got to put one coat on this side though.

Today it was sunny so I looked at the car to determine the spots that need more attention, but mostly just relaxing this evening. Enjoying the view also.

I decided to repair some problems I found on the Passenger side door. They became more noticeable with the primer applied so I cut out the problems and welded in some pieces. My welding still needs work but it'll do.

She's moving along. Do I gather that you're going to take it all the way now and finish the restoration? Some of my best memories from back in the day come from bad assed R/Ts. Continued good luck with her.

Well it looks like I am having a set back. I didn't get or give the paint store guy good information when I asked for a sanding primer. He sold me lacquer primer which is not compatible with the single stage urethane paint I plan to use. So this weekend I will be sanding it off in preparation for epoxy. At least it's a three day weekend. lol

Whaaaaaaat? Didn't know they still sold Lacguer primer anymore, any paint supply store should know better than that? Look on the bright side.. at least it sands very well.

Yes the can says acrylic Lacquer. At least I Got it straight so It wont be an issue going forward.

Today I picked up some dp40LF and activator. I have enough to reseal if I need to put some slick sand on any areas. Almost have the lacquer primer all sanded off. I'm going to talk to my boss at work to see if I can work on it there after work. I should be able to prime/seal and paint in a week. I'm at the point outside the comfort zone of a cul-de-sac wth a neighborhood association. Too many things need to go right no not involve the powers that be.

Yeah the bored housewives association will make your life hell if you get over spray on their roses

Finally was able to put 2 coats on the car. Luckily it was windy and helped with the smell. I put plastic all along the walls and floor so as not to get over spray on anything. Sprayed at low pressure also that helped. I'll post more pictures tomorrow when I take the car out.

Test fit my sail panel chrome this evening and will try to wet sand the car tomorrow. Won't be long now till it's finally done. I've missed 2 mopar vs chevy/ford days at the track so far this year. I didn't plan on doing so much work on the car but seeing all the projects here gave me hope and inspiration to repair all I could. Thanks you so much f or this site.
