Worked on the front and rear DODGE letters this morning.

I block sanded the driver side door and rear quarter panel under the fuel fill door then put 2 coats of slick sand surface on it yesterday. And today after church I blocked it some more and put 2 more coats of slick sand on it again and got 90% of the waves out. Still need to wet sand but humidity is high today because of rain in the area so I'll let it dry this week and wet sand next weekend.

RTK get yourself a 30 inch long block. Then spray entire body with guide coat. Dry sand with 120 then look with a florescent light.
I just went to get some 120 grit because I had 80 and it was leaving scratches but all I have is an 18 inch board. It will have to do. The other problem I'm having is finding so thing to match the curves in the door. Any ideas?

You can also use armaflex, not the soft stuff but the denser rigid stuff, it's still flexible enough to match the contours... if you are doing it on a tight budget, otherwise you can get a Durablock for about $30...
Great job looks like your moving right along! What color are you going with on the exterior?

The color will be inferno red pearl from a 99 durango.

Repainted the R/T emblems tonight. I was going to wash the car and get it and the garage ready to seal and paint the car tomorrow but it started raining this evening so I had a change of plans. Hopefully tomorrows weather is better.

I got the car washed and taped up today but I tweaked my back in the process, so no paint today. I just put the car cover on it for now.

Today I finally got the car painted, I had a vacation day left and conditions were perfect. Low humidity and no wind. I haven't taken it out into the sun yet but by the looks of my test panel it's not the color I ordered. Inferno red is what I wanted but Kirkers version looks more like metallic maroon. Well that's the Internet shopping I guess. I probably won't take it out of the garage till this weekend so I'll post some pictures as soon as possible.

Edited my previous post to add a pic of the hood. With the light on in the garage it shows a lot of metal flake.

I took a couple of pictures of the sun hitting the car but couldn't get the whole car in the sun. I will need to park it in the street to have the sun shine on the whole car. Maybe later.

Yesterday evening I started to buff out the hood with a sample kit I ordered from Maguire. It polished out ok but not great. So I went and bought a different compound and wet sanded with 1500. Still need to polish and wax but I can see the difference. Before pic just buffed and after pic sanded and buffed.

It erased my post and only posted pics.
Anyway yesterday evening I started to buff out the hood with a sample kit I ordered from Maguire. It polished out ok but not great. I decided to sand it with some 1500 and get some better compound. Before and after pictures in previous post.
