I didn't get to work on the car this weekend because I had to go help my friend swap a couple B body rear axles,then we got my rust free 71 Charger R/T that my friend brought back from the Arizona dessert out of his storage trailer,and onto my trailer to finally come home. we put my 66 Belvidere in the storage trailer until I get to it. Now I have to unload the car and get it in the garage.

I got a question for you Sir Richard Pumpaloaf (the tale of a demented bread bopper) Is that a real poncho,or is that a Sears poncho? I took the day off yesterday with the hope of getting the fuel system installed in the car. So I replaced the center of the trunk floor with a piece that I cut out of a Charger back in the 80s when there were no replacement panels for Chargers. The piece was very solid for a New England piece. I went under the car,to dress the welds with the trunk lid open and I noticed that three spots on the piece I installed has a few minor pinholes, but we all know what happens when you take a welder to a pinhole.a pinhole becomes the size of a quarter! But I want the car to be 100 percent solid, so I spent the afternoon into the evening fixing the problem areas. I have to finish undercoating the area tonight and I can put the fuel system in the next available day I can work on the car.

I did start prepping the fuel tank, which I cleaned and clear coated with high heat clear so it would stay looking new. I installed the sending unit with the new gasket and the reconditioned factory locking ring. I always use the factory locking ring on the sending unit, because the reproductions I have used didn't lock tight enough and gas leaked all over new clear coated tanks. It sucks having to change them in the car with gas in the tank! I put the new filler tube grommet/seal in too. I should be able to install the tank on the next available day!

I just got home from work about a half hour ago and I watered the grass,put out the trash and recycling barrels for pickup in the morning, and threw a steak on the grille. I got some fake beers so I might have some ambition left to possibly work on the car! But first my new anti libtard statement........Tonight I am dining with my Dodges! Everything they want to take away from me! My Dodges and a few Plymouths,a steak and some simulated beer! I had to close the garage doors so all my toxic masculinity wouldn't escape! Lol I could have my own reality TV show, Dining with Dodges! I am going to try to do something to the car,but it's hard to get moving after a I stopped to eat!

I made up this retaining bezel for the filler tube to trunk floor gasket. I used 16 gauge galvanized steel to make it. I will clear coat it so it remains new looking.

Ask and ye shall receive. I spent the last two nights doing the body work on the trunk floor pan. It was a flash back to the early eighties when I used to have to piece together trunk floor pans from pieces that came from several different cars,because there were no replacement trunk pans made. It would have been less work to put a new AMD trunk floor pan, this one required a lot of blending of the welds to finish it,but I was able to retain most of the factory spot welds, so I think it was worth all the extra work. The first picture shows all the blending of the welds,the next one is the trunk floor pan in etch primer.
