Wife & I just walked back inside after our "Dawn Ceremony" at the front gate - along with a few of our neighbours. Since we're in Lockdown, the PM suggested we all stand (as a Nation) at our front door or gate and listen to the radio broadcast of the service. A very different way to celebrate ANZAC Day...(Australia New Zealand Army Corps) and the sacrifices of our ancestors at Gallipoli and WW1. It was still pitch black as we kicked off, but the red sunrise started to show as we finished up.

It was also a bit weird and different, as there were 3 different stations playing at once...the Last Post lasted about 5 minutes :D

Still, at least we did our part to remember those who lost their lives in the sacrifice for others.
And the parking was easy for a change.

Thanks @kiwigtx

yep we need to remember the fallen
allies that fought for the right side, in the wars against fascism
in 2 world wars

We did the same Roger. Assembled in our street and remembered with the neighbours. 2 meters apart of course. We do it every year whether on a rig or at home. Lest we forget.

the best thing to come from Gallipoli
The periscope rifle was first invented by Sgt. William Beech, a builder's foreman, of the 2nd Battalion, Australian Imperial Force, in May 1915.

Now that's something to stand for, those that lost their lives, in the sacrifice for others. All gave some, some gave all....

Thanks for passing that on, kiwigtx. My wife and I watched Anzac Girls last year (the mini-series) so I was at least familiar with the term.

I will always either stand or salute to our ANZAC Brothers and Sisters as they have always been available to defend Freedom and Peace. This from a retired USAF Airman and Veteran as well Roger...Tuck:usflag::usflag::usflag:
