Time to hit the Track.

Friday went pretty well although I am sad to say no new best. Hoping that will come today. My Altronics said 89F @ 4700’. Despite that I went 3 rounds. All passes were between 10.17 to 10.24. The 10.24 was off the gas while taking the stripe and between 1.38 to 1.41 60’s. Cooler day today. Stay tuned.

4500 to 1500 is worth almost .20 in ET on mine. That is brutal air. I would bet for you a reduction of nearly .30 at standard corrected sea level.

That's an incentive builder! It wasn't the best day to have jetted up neither. Today is a new day though.

10.17 @ 4700 feet is a great time for your car.
In 1500 to 2000 you will go 10.0 or so.
The 1.38 is the key.

No new personal best this weekend. We had 2 test passes today and then into elimination. I spun on both test passes and could only best a 1.43 60' 10.23 @ 130.7 mph. Then a first round red @ -.006. I was hoping to have better news to report but that's racing. Next time!

Keep the hammer down you will make it. Is the launch feeling better and I'm staying tuned.

Any opinion on the tire change? Said you spun some, track conditions or tire? Keep at it.

On Friday the stiff sidewall 10.5W's were working great. I was launching at 3000, didn't want to try increasing and messing things up. On Saturday it was definitely track conditions on the first test pass, the second pass was better but the power wasn't there to set any new numbers. I was going to change the tires over on Saturday morning but decided to leave it alone, they were working great.
My 3rd round on Friday night it was starting to get dark, the first time I've raced at that time and I found the lights were crazy bright. Rolling into stage I was wondering if that was going to effect me, and it did. I red lit ridiculous.. And the thing was that I was sure I saw the 3rd yellow on, when I spotted his win light on I was like - no way.. Some guys say the glare of the second can fool you, any comments on that guys?

How red? Its way easier to anticipate at night. The lights are brighter coming down, Anything more than about .010-.0.15 red is anticipation. This is why it's good to practice on Pro tree. It helps to eliminate anticipation. It's a tough thing to learn. But when you get it, look out.

Good to know, thanks. Obviously the driver here is full of anticipation and needs work. We won't talk about how red. Lol.

Stop beating me. :D, no it was a good race. Not often you loose with a .008 RT. Next time.

Wooks, it has to be a conspiracy that we keep getting paired up against each other...
I do my best to be an honest guy but I sure stole that one out from under you.
One wicked gorgeous Charger there buddy!

I think you are getting there.the car looks like it is launching better. Next time out you will be on top of it.

I agree the launch looks much smoother. Great job. Have you tried using a amber face shield on your helmet, it makes things clearer during the day and helps get rid of glare at night. Or glasses if your not into faceshields.

Don’t underestimate the crappy air, Malex. Not only was the DA through the roof, but I’m guessing you’re dealing with a lot of smoke where you’re at from the Fires too (??). Smoke filled crappy air isn’t going to make power the way the clean cool dense air of fall will. Make sure you get out in late Sept...... you’ll find out what that machine is capable of.

Your launch picture with the new Hoosiers looks very similar to my launch picture with me using the same tires as you.

Thanks Bob. That was the first race for me at dusk. Remember I'm still fresh and going rounds isn't too common. I'll be doing a visor, glasses, or whatever helps. I need a trainer. Haha.

Hey LW. It was a real smokey day. On Saturday several racers told me that their cars were hating the air and I wondered if the smoke may have an effect.

Let's hope so Bearman. I sure am getting lots of separation still and if I turn up the launch RPM at all it just gets stupid again. Last meet is Sept 8 / 9th, looking forward to it.
