There has been adjusted altitude as low as 100' at Famoso at some of my races—-
Thats some amazing air. I’m your biggest fan Mike!! Get-er-done! Big changes in your quest for a NPB. Good luck.
(Bakersfield). The physical altitude of Famoso is 675' above sea level...but the combined forces of barometric pressure, temperature in the low 60's, etc allow the adjusted altitude to be really really low. At one race last year, the first week in March, the adjusted altitude was negative -100'...like racing in a mineshaft.
The cars really fly when the air gets down to 700' or less....and it will be that at the NHRA CALIFORNIA HOT ROD REUNION RACE this coming Oct 19, 20,21...and I am pre-entered...this is where, hopefully I can get my 9 second time slip.
