Time to hit the Track.

Same here, the weather up in the Pacific Northwest hasn't been as cooperative as I would have liked. Time to get started on a new engine for the GTX and put that engine in my '65 Coronet...

The extended forecast shows that we are in for a very long winter. Looks like I’ll have tons of time to work on the car and the big motor.

I'm lucky. We'll be out the next 3 weekends at 3 different tracks. Going to pull the weight out and open the throttle up. Hopefully the weather will be good.

the season is done for me but now other fun starts.

Ready to start fitting. Turned the shock brackets around so that there’s no bracket interference. Pinion angle has been set to zero and the mono leafs will keep everything square for mock up.

You don’t waste any time! Remind me who did the port work on your heads. Came across your dyno video on YouTube the other day.

Malex, now that's what I call "gettin with the program". I'm sure that come springtime those elusive numbers will be plentiful for you. Time to roll up your sleeves and start "cutting and weldin" SDK

Thanks 67. Yeah I was getting quivery for awhile thinking about how I'm going to be keeping busy this winter but things fell into place. Regarding my Victors, my long time friend who owns ABS Comp did some port work on them, nothing crazy, just where he knows helps best. He's a small shop, overwhelmingly backed up and booked solid. Since the dyno time I've switched to a Super Victor and Dominator, which added some to the numbers.

You are right Bob! The biggest delay was making the decision to make the change from leafs to ladders. Now that that's done...... Get-er-done!

malex, way to go and good luck keep us up to date.

Been chipping away at the ladder bar install. Things are fitting nicely.

Upper shock mount is in place, tucked in nicely, and protrudes into the frame rail 1/2" on each side.

Fit the front crossmember today. In order to get good downward angle the crossmember was dropped so that 1/3 of it hangs below the frame connector.

2 degrees downward slope in the 2nd from bottom hole.

Measuring many times paid off..

not wanting to sound dumb why do you have to preload the diff if the angle is all ready at 3. or did you take it back to zero and then move it to 2. is the object to get as much preload on the diff before you go into launch or what i am lost.

Soo, what are planning for Dec. and onward, lol!

At this point I'm just checking / setting the lower bar angles. I'm able to get 4 degrees of downward slope when in the bottom hole at the current ride height.

December? More like October and onward. This rolls in once I'm done with the 64. I picked this up in Montana a few weeks ago. I've got it tucked in the corner of the driveway at the daughters place.

I first looked at this car last March. It had been sitting for many years, no title and the owner called it his lawn ornament. It was parked behind a church and the church mice had been residents at some point. The grandson and I brought it home a couple weeks back, days before school started for him.

This will be the winter project and wanting / hoping it lasts a few winters.

How long are the bars?

These are the 36" Outlaw Triple Adjustable Bars. Front crossmember ends up right under the main roll bar hoop.
The rear shock brackets that they come with needed some mods in order for shocks to properly fit the usable space. The diff tube hole was a closed hole, had to open it up, will re-weld into place.

Drilled new holes and shortened the shock brackets. Also had to cut the diff tube hole open, will reweld into place The kit came with separate shock mount brackets that won't be used.

Today's plan is to get everything squared up, diagonal link bar fit and tach weld brackets.

Very nice work, Malex. I commend you for the meticulous approach and quality of your work.
