Time to hit the Track.

Malex, with the ladders how did you determine how long to get them. Or does that have anything to do with it. Not that I am going to ladders but again curious how to figure that out is it done by weight, length of the car.
Ladder bars can provide a violent hit. The more power you make the longer bar you can use. 32" is a standard length. My car uses 36"

Bearman, I did research and the guys here all steered me in the right direction. My bars are 34" in length. My final decision on what specifically to buy was made after talking with Superstockracer. He has several cars with the same bar set running into the mid 8's. One of his cars is very similar in all aspects to mine so I simply installed the set up he shared with me on that car. It worked right off the trailer for me.
The front of my bars are pretty close to the floor pan where it drops down. Within an inch.

Also get why you use different wheel and tire combo's. Track weight etc. When you change sizes it changes the ratio of the rear gear correct. So now the shift pattern is either speeds up or slows down. So I'm guessing you wait for the Rev light to come on to make your shifts or is there more to it.

I love the look of the Torque Thrust, that's what it's all about. I also love the look of the old Super Tricks, I'm all about nostalgia, and the weight of them were a bonus for me as I was shooting for a 10.0 pass. It took me coming on 2 years to finally round up the Super Tricks and this weekend I'll be on Super Tricks all the way around. The car is working great now and if I go into the 9's again, which I expect I will, my choice will be to either add weight, or, I'll swap over to the Torque Thrusts. The heavier rotating weight might be enough to keep me out of the 9's.
It's still all experimental right now.

It's extremely gratifying when something works right off the trailer. Was helping a buddy set up a nose heavy Challenger with CT's on it and he finally decided to stick on some ladder bars since things just weren't working out with the CT's. IIRC, the bars were 34" but Oldtimers is messing with me. Anyways, set them and the shocks up according to what a chassis book recommend for his combo and went exactly 10.0 off the trailer and then 9.30 with a small hit of the dummy gas :D he was a happy camper after getting his butt chewed out by the track management for not having the right jungle gym in the car for 9's.

I had a terrible time last year getting off the line, it was a FBBO group effort to get the cal track to work as good as they did. Doug had posted a video of his car leaving and I was “ I wish!” Lol. Now it sorta is, just a little less up and not as far out.
Sure can’t thank everyone enough for all the help. Thanks all!

Mike, I take 100% credit for you doing the ladder bar conversion to get your car into the 9 second bracket....you did it JUST to get ahead of my Coronet (which had gone 10.04)…LOL, LOL, LOL....JUST KIDDING

Mr. Gaines, you definitely kept me motivated, that’s for absolute sure! Haha.
Hey but seeing you have a new car now, times a wasting so get back out there before withdrawals start!
Into the trailer time and a new look.

Got lead in the truck and Torque Thrusts in the trailer. Now I just have to avoid Wookie all weekend!

Malex, I am really liking the Tricks on your ride. Adds a little nostalgia, like it needed. Don't get me wrong Torque Thrusts are great, I had some many years ago on the street. I can almost hear a whisper, Thanks Mike

Too bad. Friends are messaging me. You see I have that creeper Larry Augustine blocked so I don’t see what he says but apparently the old crow is squawking up a storm. So pathetic. Not even gonna read it.
Hopefully a moderator can do something about his conduct.

Which remind me. I came across this the other day. Isn’t that the size of it these days. Guess who came to mind.

Hahaha. Thanks for the help along the way Bob. The torque thrusts could be going back on to stay. Time slips will tell.

Day is starting out good. Cutting it close and it’s a stiff cross wind.

Nice pass Mike... Right where you need to be and the crosswind could really be a factor. Be safe!

Thanks! First pass picture.

I hope to go some rounds today.

Cranky is really making Malex Look gooood !
Dealt with you for a lot of years and on other boards too besides this one....so don't push your luck because it's very thin. Like many others, I'm kinda tired of your 'nothing is my fault' crap and your argumentative ways.....

Exactly right cranky. If he owned a restaurant and customers got food poisoning it would be the customers fault for ordering the food.

So I went out first round. Opponent run his exact time and a excellent light.
But on a good note, Wookie is in the final!

wookie gots to do it today. your car looked great nose up and *** pushing. i think you have it pulled together nicely way to go malex
