WELL IT LOOKS LIKE I NEED SOME HELP. THE PAPERWORK I GOT WITH MY CAR IS NOT GOING TO ALLOW ME TO TITLE IT IN THE GREAT STATE OF IDAHO...SO THEY LEAVE ME NO CHOICE BUT TO REACH OUT FOR A TITLE AND VIN TAG FROM ANOTHER CAR. MINE IS A 66 CORONET 500. NOT THE WAY I WANTED TO DO IT BUT I HAVE INVESTED A CRAP-LOAD OF MONEY TRYING IT THE RIGHT WAY SO NOW I WILL TRY IT THIS WAY. I HAVE RAN IT THRU THE NATIONAL DATABASE AND IT IS NOT STOLEN BUT THE ORIGINAL OWNER APPARENTLY DIDN'T DO PROPER PAPERWORK AND THAT WAS 4 OWNERS AGO SO THE STATE SAYS THEY CAN ONLY GO BACK 1 OWNER AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK!!!!!! I THINK IT'S A LOT OF CRAP AND THE CAR IS TO NICE TO PART OUT OR CRUSH. CAN'T BELIEVE IV'E FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR BEING A CHEVY GUY BUT THERE IT IS!!!! ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.:cursin::cursin::cursin::cursin:

simple, register the car in another state, then transfer it from that state to yours.
normally i wouldnt mention it,but,i hear Vermont is one of the easiest states currently to do so.
not to mention-swapping vins is illegal........:poke:

First, STOP YELLING!
Second, Idaho offers bonded titles like most states. And mechanics liens.

Your option is morally questionable and a felony.

Like previously mentioned, bonded title! 440'

I'm thinking maybe he'll learn something from it....but if the owner or another mod thinks it's not a good idea to leave it up, then it'll blow up.

While I don't "condone" what he is doing and I would never do that myself, let me say I feel his pain.
And my situation was very different from his.
I did the research and showed the main DMV office the law in my state regarding titling a car with no title or history in two data bases.
Both the state and the national system have no record of the car in question.
I was doing it by the book.
Yet, they would not follow the law and title the car.
Bureaucrats.

Here man...You're gonna need this!!!

Oddly enough there is a recent change in law.
The state has never titled 1962 and older cars.
Now, if someone has a pre 1963 car they can obtain a "conditional title".
IIRC from studying the code, the person basically says they own the car but there is not really any weight to the title.
It's pretty worthless.
See post above.
Bureaucracy.

International Title co. Georgia, USA. Cost has gone up over the years but you're essentially selling your car to them, they title it in Georgia, and sell it back to you. Easy peasy. Did it years ago for $150.

He's looking to do illegal activity, and I don't think Joey would think this is a cool idea, but that's just me. Nuke it baby!

He has a 66 so that's a no-go.

There should be a way to do it. Ive done it in Nevada. The DMV is no help they dont know their own rules. Call your local court house and see what they say. In Nevada basically you put together your case as in evidence showing the car is yours and not stolen. Pictures, signed bill of sale, statement from previous owner selling it to you, statement saying it was abandoned, how long youve had it. Record of attempts to contact last titled owner. Judge looks at it makes a decision and you get the title.

Ive even gone to the DMV with a court order and the teller was like sorry thats not a valid document. Lets just say the manager wacked that person on the head and I got my title.

Good thing comments aren't allowed on sale and wanted threads!:rofl::rofl::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:
