What are the lamest factory wheels and lamest aftermarket wheels?

Thought I`d ask the opposite question of the other thread on coolest wheels. For me hands down the lamest factory are steel wheels with poverty/dog dish caps = boring, they only belong on 100% concours show cars or grandmas slant six four door Dart. Second Lamest is Rallyes, while I don`t think they look bad it`s just you see SO many of them on restored Mopars now. Lamest aftermarket wheels are pretty much anything from the `90`s, if you still have these on your car please take them off!

Now a days only grandpa's can afford a Mopar muscle car, so they want them to look like grandpa cars. Boring! As far as aftermarket wheels are concerned, there are so many modern wheels that are totally ugly I wouldn't know where to start!

Nailed it! I knew I wasn`t the only one to feel that way about dog dishes.

The original Torq Thrusts are cool. Those modern ones that are all polished/chromed or whatever are not that great but really overused. Ha, ha, and for gosh sakes if you want to run Keystones or Cragars make sure they are rusty (like they were when they were 1 year old).

My Cragars are really difficult to keep nice. They rust even in the garage. I already replaced two of the set of four!

Yes: I remember guys sprayed them with oil when parked in the garage over winter and they'd still bubble up. Great looking wheels though. I like most original style mags though. And they cars werre always faster with mags on them!

I concur with the sentiment about "dog dish" on steel wheels. Barf !! Many opinions are based on personal experience; mine, from real time when these cars were new/almost new. Only taxicabs, municipal cars, and grandma cars had hub caps. We "cool dudes" scrapped them instantly for our favorite aftermarket style. We did numerous swaps in the garage, the hub-cap wheels were the first to get tossed. Yes, even brand-new cars. Thus, my opinion on the lamest stock wheels.

Factory: Those rubber / polycast wheels of the 80's

Aftermarket: Color-anodized appliance wheels of the same era.

I think the dog dish hubcaps look great on 69.5 Superbee A12 cars, but that's about it.

They never came from the factory with them. Chrome lug nuts only.

I'm waiting for someone to call me out on the fact my heavily optioned GTX came from the factory with dog dish caps (I show the car with the window sticker in place.) They were removed as soon as it came off the car carrier, and the chrome magnums that replaced them are staying in place. Nobody ran a Charger or GTX with poverty caps back in the day, but it was surprising how many wore full factory wheel covers. Took those off Baby Blue as soon as I could afford it.

My new 1969 SuperBee came with 14" Coronet wheel discs and whitewall tires. It did not stay that way very long.

Lamest is full wheel discs on a Musclecar! I don't mind dog dishes, but agree it is overdone. I used to run '69 Red Stripe dog dishes on body colour Cop wheels on my '67 R/T, but after 25 years, changed to aftermarket wheels. It made quite a difference in appearance.

I got my license in `76 so I missed the height of the muscle car era but caught the tail end - no self respecting muscle car owner had dog dishes, they all had Cragars, slots, Keystones etc. If you pulled into the high school parking lot with dog dishes on you road runner, Chevelle, Mustang etc. you would be laughed out of town!
