What did you do to your Mopar today?

First time the top has gone down on my convertible . . .

I've had this car for about 8 years, and have been working hard on it for the past 2+ years - but the top has been hanging in my rafters while I work on the body . . . so the top was bolted back into the car to test the function . . .

Little tight around the 2014 Challenger seats that I've got installed for the rear seats . . . but it works . . .

tomorrow it gets the final stage the headliner gets put in then some final trim and then drive the hell out of it 3 year in the making!!!!

My wife used to daily drive a 73 318 Challenger back in the late 80's and was always getting offers to buy it but one day some moron tried to get her to stop because he wanted to look it over. He followed her home and even pulled into the driveway behind her. She had called me on her cell phone crying and told me about it and was just a couple of minutes from home so I told her when she got here to just run it into the garage as I would have it open. Now it takes a lot to make my wife cry so I knew there was something more going on than someone looking the car over while going down the road.

Our driveway is over 120' from the street to the garage and she came in a bit hot and I met the moron head on in the middle of the drive with a .45 daring him not to stop. "My wife is crying and you're on my turf now you asshole and the police are on the way." He tried to explain that he was interested in buying the car and yada yada yada and that's when I chambered a round. He got the message that the car wasn't for sale. The cops showed up just as he was leaving so they turned around and went after him. Don't know what all took place because I never heard from him again. I also told the cops that I pulled a gun on him after he insisted on talking about the car and how he made my wife cry while harassing her on the road.

Btw, I cleaned all the crap off the Belvedere one more time on the 8th. If it becomes a big junk collector one more time, it's going to get sold. It's been sitting way too long and I ain't getting any younger...
Maybe I should keep my AR-15 in my car then?

Don't get your hopes up on the paint gun, Summit sells those pretty cheap and the one I bought for touch up is about ready to be thrown in the dumpster too. I've got a nice HVLP gun but still prefer my Binks siphon gun.

It's a "Vaper" brand. Not terribly stellar, but free.

kinda big 1.7 tip, but has a big aluminum cup and the cup and tip interchange with the gun I already have.

I'm declaring victory.

...and I'm painting this weekend come hell or.... well, let's hope not to get high water.

Actually brought the 66 Belvedere home, yesterday. It'll sit for some time. I'll just gather parts and stuff while working on the other cars.

Checked the A/C charge on the Imperial yesterday - it was dead-empty, as I feared. It has never been converted from R12. I went to a buddy's shop, where he still has R12. We shot a can in the system and checked for leaks, and found none. It blows cool with one can in the system, so we are going to do a full charge next week and make sure it all holds. I really hate to have to convert to R134a, if I don't have to. This is gonna be some expensive Freon, but it's cheaper than doing a proper conversion. If I end up doing that, I'll go with a Sanden compressor and simply re-do the entire system.

Restored my wiper motor and a spare that I had. It originally came from a C body and I converted it to a B body setup. Did it all myself with the exception of the plating. Total cost, $25 per wiper motor.

What did you have to change to make them work?

Not a lot to be honest. Replaced the lead and changed the crank arm. All of the internals are the same.

Sweet.

I know some of them clock and park way different internally.

That might be a bit of over kill? :D My wife and I both have our carry license and we both are armed pretty much all the time.
I don't legally need a carry permit in Wyoming. People around here don't even need a permit to concealed guns.

Swapped in a new set of points and checked the timing. Mounted a set of Cooper Cobras on 15X7's up front. Then took a long test drive of course. Had some fun with the new AFR gauge too. And finally I richened up the metering rods to take care of a lean cruising condition.
