What did you do to your Mopar today?

After installing a new carb this winter (Quickfuel Q750) I've been fighting a hang up on returning to an 800 rpm idle (liked to hang at 1,200 rpm). I've adjusted the throttle cable, checked linkage rods on carb, etc and today I just bought an assortment of throttle return springs and went to the next dia bigger spring and.... problem solved. Sometimes the simplest things are the answer but then again the Lokar springs are pretty light. Last bug has been worked out for the Summer season if it ever stops raining.

Tell us more, I want to know all the details, how did you get it plated!?
The plating was done by a local electroplater. He did the both the gold and zinc plating.
The basic steps for restoring are;
Photograph before tear down and during every step
Clean the worst of the grime off
Document which wires go to what
De-solder and trim wiring but make sure you leave them as long as possible
Remove the screws from the gearbox
Gently remove the cover to expose the nylon gear
Remove nylon gear assembly
Unscrew the motor from the gearbox (the brushes will spring out when removed from comutator)
Cut wire from brush assembly
Undo slotted screws in the center of the motor base
Remove armature and field windings as a unit. The field will more than likely be stuck to the housing so extreme caution and patients is required while removing.
Inspect windings and armature and them blow down with compressed air
Degrease and clean all parts. Glass bead the gearbox to remove the worst of the corrosion. Then use wire wool and Mothers polish to restore the finish
Send out motor housing and screws for re-plating
Replace main wire that goes between the brush assembly and the solder connection on gearbox
Replace sleeving on all exposed wiring
When parts come back from replaters, reassemble.
Make sure to put fresh grease in the gearbox
Test using the test procedure in the FSM

Good luck and enjoy

FINALLY got paint in the engine bay.

Got some runs to address, and will likely have to re-shoot the fender tops.

Happy to have made progress.

Finally got back to working on my mom's old car. The 6.4 made noise for the first time today!! YEA!!

I adjusted wheelie bars today to keep from getting the giant little red wagon style performances that I have been getting. Crowd likes it but the billfold doesn't.

Took the Imperial to Cars-n-Coffee this morning. Wrenched a bit on the D100. That's about it.

Well not today, but put SS leaf springs in my Satellite a few weeks ago. Also extended the wheelbase slightly to gain more tire clearance. Hope the driveshaft fits. I made it longer in anticipation of extending the wheelbase. Proof is in the pudding, so to speak. New motor under construction.

Going to a VFW-hall show today, on the banks of Lake St. Clair. Should be a beautiful day.

After sorting out some wiring issues I have my car running.

Sanded and resprayed run areas.

Scuffed and re-shot fender tops.

Only two runs this time.

Getting there.

I had some new exhaust manifold drops installed and welded in, which lead to discovering a tick-tick leak coming from the choke well/cup. Which was also crapping up the engine bay. So I gooped it up with some high temp RTV.
