Got car back from shop today - installed a BeCool radiator, B&M trans cooler, Milodon high flow thermostat, got an aluminum water pump housing, high volume pump and a Chrome (making it faster for sure) tstat housing along with new hoses today.

I cut the lexan rear window for my friend's Demon, while he was installing wiring harnesses.

Installed the dash on the Demon. Finished fitting the rear lexan, prepped the front opening for a stock windshield. We only work on it for 2-3 hours on weekdays.

I know the threaded hole is for the heater hose nipple.

What's the other one for?
IMG_20161122_154950m.jpg

Could these be original fuel hose clamps?
IMG_20161120_160632.jpg

You have 2 heater hoses, and those aren't factory clamps...though they hold much better than the spring-clamps. Keep up the good work.

...but one heater hose goes to the water pump.

Sometimes there are more than one place to plumb the heater hoses.
I would just plug the other one and monitor to engine closely until you know you didn't plug something important. Lol

Some of my work trucks have one or more plugs in the intake that look like maybe they were meant for multiple heater hoses

discovered I had a rotted fuel line and have at least 1 welsh plug on the way out and a leaking oil pan gasket so guess what is now happening to the SE before it will pass rego :BangHead: yep motors coming out to replace pan gasket and welsh plug. still it now has Australian compliant retractable 3 point seat belts fitted  getting there but its going slower than expected .
on a side note the automotive engineer that's doing all this has fallen head over heals with this car ( he's a ford guy ) and wants it bad , found a 71 charger is now his screen saver and he's offered to do a full resto on the rt + offered a quit substantial discount on the road runner resto as a swap for the SE about 50K Australian
thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon.gif
he said he'll even wait while I drive it this summer while waiting for the roadrunner to be finished should I do the deal
deep-thinking-smiley-emoticon.gif

got it registered
woohoo-smiley-emoticon.gif
aust compliant head lights , seatbelts . new welsh plugs , pan , timing cover and valve cover gaskets , valve stem seals , engine mounts , trans mount, upper and lower ball joints , uca bushes . full tune up and auto trans service . will post up some pics of her out and about tomorrow ,was so excited I forgot the camera this afternoon :poke: drove it for 2 hours straight, "flying high " at the moment

We put all the clips into the rear window opening, cleaned and prepped everything for the lexan install. After getting the window installed, we peeled the protective plastic...and the window had been subjected to something corrosive. It looked like ****! I asked my friend about the bubbly surface of the film, long before we installed it. It said it came that way. I literally ripped it off the car, and tossed it on the floor. Then we had to clean the opening. We've decided to install a rubber-set, new-repop, glass window. Lots of wasted time for me[cut, fit, install]...and $$ and waiting for him. It'll look better, anyways. I explained to him, that this is why most people don't do this....and my Aspen took 2 years to build with me working on it for full days. We'll have the new front and rear glass in by the end of next week. He has other things yo do in the meantime, and I'll work on the `cuda. AH, the fun of building from scratch, and deviating from stock.

I also have my bracket for the brake proportioning valve and front line T, almost finished. it's gonna be 10lbs in a 5lb bag, around the hydra-boost system. But it'll be neat and mostly hidden. Have to machine a bolt, make a couple clearance notches in the bracket...and get it coated. [for `cuda]

I replaced the rear bumper on my 69 4 door Coronet. I had to cut off about half of the bolts. I also learned that you must remove the bumper and brackets as a unit, then once that is off the car, you can actually get to the bolts that hold the bumper to the brackets. I cleaned up the brackets and license plate holder and painted them black. After a trip to the hardware and auto parts store for bolts, washers and a 7/16 tap, I re-tapped all the holes in the brackets, then installed the bumper to the brackets and installed the assembly back on the car....by myself. It was a total bitch to try and hold the bumper in place and get bolts started, I was in like a fetal position holding the bumper up with my knee. Anyway, I got it done and now the front bumper will be next. I got the front and rear bumper kit with bolts from Tamraz for $740 (free shipping) and the bumpers look really good!

I hate installing bumpers alone. Lots of tape on the body, floor-jacks, etc. I try to work smart....not hard.

Not a damn thing as I am cooking all day. Somethings are far more important than my '66 Ply Sat and the things I need to finish...cr8crshr/Tuck:usflag::usflag::usflag:

Pretty sure the existing nipple is for the heater hose, and the large threaded hole is for a thermovalve. Small thread hole is for the temp gauge sending unit (obviously lol).

OK, you might have something there.....what's that, and why would I have removed it?

Mounting plate[gets powder this week] and machined bolt we did today.

Thermally activated vacuum valve, usually for the heat stove flap, or the smog pump valve, or sometimes both. Also depending on year I think it also could have went to the vacuum advance on the distributor. When the coolant reaches a certain temp it would open (or close, depending on application).

Edit: would look something like this:
