What did you do to your Mopar today?

not what I did to it ( added some Lucas transmission fix on recommendation from trans guy for smother shifts ) but what it did to me !sliced my thumb but good on the extra sharp dip stick ouch !!! trans fluid stings .
why is the dipstick so sharp? almost like a sword blade , will be "fixing" it latter on

Picked up an O/D bellhousing for my future trans swap.

Installed the first flex plate to torque converter bolt.....incorrectly (DOH), and now can't get it back out and it's starting to round off.

Forgot there was an offset one.

Any tips besides "pull the engine back out"?

Well, I got it.

An offset wrench, a BFH and creative blocking of the engine from turning.

...and a hell of a bruise under a 1/4" bent back and ripped section of thumbnail.

Started polishing the rear window we installed and yanked-out of the Demon. It'll take hours, but cheaper than a new one for his car. He continued with wiring.

That stuff has worked on any old trans I've put it in. Snake-oil that seems to work.

I almost messed up today and sold it! guy came over and looked it over about half way threw showing him I realized I was almost making a mistake so he left empty handed

Put together my new Z-creeper and hung up the new metric shorty articulated ratchet wrenches I got for my birthday. Primered the trunk deck and touched up some spots around the door frames that had gotten scratched. Began cutting a template for the roadster panel behind the buckets. Using the 67 Satellite seat topper as a starting point and deciding on an overall shape on both outer ends and the middle section. Also whether it needs to be several sections welded together at different angles or a one piece that's bent to shape. I guess it will be several because of all of the angles involved. I might shape some bars in the silhouette I need of the panel , kinda like a buck for fiberglass molding and body clay. It will take several as the shape tapers off to rear. Once I have that done I can set them out on a flat surface in the correct positions and elevations and then make templates for each section and build it that way. Tacking them to the bucks and then to each other after final checking and positioning. I want to be able to set the entire panel down in place and then the Satellite topper over the leading edge and bolt it down. I have already cut the upper rear door / window inside panels that go above the vinyl door panels, to fit down over the fastening points of the wing. Now I need to get the roadster panel done so I can see how it will have to be fitted to the panels on both sides. I would like to use aircraft DZUS fasteners on the underside to sandwich both panels together. If you can visualize, or Google, what a 66 T-Bird trunk lid looks like you will be looking at the basic shape of my roadster panel. The rear edge of the t-bird panel would be the front edge of my panel and the taper faces to the rear. The Satellite seat topper is shaped like a wing too and the T-bird shaped deck lid is very similar.

Today is about what someone else did to my car. I was thinking I was going to become a door glass/door functionality expert. Then I woke up and decided to pay an expert to do the job correctly the first time! I found Andy's American Glass company in Tucson, AZ. After speaking with him, he agreed to go through each door (all 4 of them) and tighten, clean, lube and fix any issues for $85/door plus parts. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me! The deal was sealed when I saw what he drives (see his car below).....I pick my car up tomorrow!!!

Today after work I started to get ready for a benifit car show this Sunday. It's a toy drive for under privileged children that a friend of mine puts on every year. I support his cause even though it's a Corvette club.
I started by checking the passenger side for any spots I missed when I buffed the paint. I redid the passenger side sail panel and started polishing the rims. After three hours here's what I did so far.

lid.

Lotsa red white and blue going on.
Good by me.

Finished installing the rear window into the Demon. The stuff I did was perfect [cutting/fitting lexan/and lowermoldings]. However, The AMD upper moldings don't have the correct radius in the corners, and are formed/extruded differently than originals[extra lip]. Combine that with molding clips that are different that originals[with incorrect screws].....and nothing assembles correctly. After PRI, the whole assembly will be cut out, AGAIN....and replaced with vintage stuff[clips and upper moldings]. I worked on auto-glass long enough to know... that this new stuff is crap. Considering all the issues...it turned out pretty great. The trim stuff will be replaced, though. I also got more of his parts powder-coated.

The last run for the season before she got a bath and tucked away under her cover for the winter. This however, is the latest I have waited to put her away, because of all the warm weather. You can however tell its getting cold here finally with all that condensation in the air it was about 35 degrees when I ran her today.

Got the Demon ready to go to PRI. It's outta my garage/shop, and will be headed down soon. I didn't get any pics over the last couple of days....got a terrible sinus-infection type thing, going on. Just working on the car was tuff...let alone thinking about pics.

Ghost- the 66/67 B body cars have some of the same DNA at those early 60's t-birds.

They were both designed by Elwood Engle.....and you can tell!

Is that right?! I did not know that. Yes, I can see many similarities in body lines and contours. I seem to have a nack for seeing parts of one car that will work great on another. Like a 69 Charger roof and sails on a 65 Chevy Impala. I'm a strange dude....lol.

lazer cut and blasted 4 link brackets. This week narrow housing 4 inches.

Bought another one, an '86 Daytona Turbo Z CS w/ some go-fast goodies. Also started the '87 Diplomat up and ran it for a while. Built a side exit exhaust for the '85 Charger 2.2 last weekend. Also swapped a 2.5 TIII engine into the '89 Lebaron Turbo GTC last month, wiring is about half done (grafting a '91 RT computer/engine harness into the '89 GTC body harness). The '68 Charger is currently a storage/work bench lol, but I've been working on a few ideas for it. Trying to get some other projects done or caught up before focusing on it. The '90 Daytona ES I need to get the title transferred and tag it, and the Durango got a couple tires replaced yesterday.
