What did you do to your Mopar today?

Today we had a beautiful sunny day in the mid 30s - pretty nice for Mid Feb in WI. So I installed the sport headlights in my truck that I received as a Christmas gift. Great upgrade - much better light than the standard model lights.

got out my car and put some nice new pinstripes on the road!!!!

Not on my RR, but still Chrysler. Stripped the 2.7 to the block, measured it all up, pistons and bores still good, ordered rings, cleaned head surfaces, dropped rods and crank at the machine shop, changed oil and checked brakes in step-daughters car, cleaned garage, cleaned and de-burred 2.7 heads with carbide burr and die grinder. All-in-all, a light day!

Also, welded tabs [1-1/4" angle iron] to the legs of my 1-ton, Harbor Freight engine stand. The goal is to have the local sheet-metal shop bend-up a tray to serve as a drip-pan. And also have them cut an expanded-metal screen to match.

Mopar Alley Club meeting. Stevens Creek Dodge fed us at Harry's Hofbrau. Nice drafts there. Scared the pedestrians at Santana Row on the way home. Cool cruising with a 70 'Cuda and 68 ragtop. Top down. Fuel return line tomorrow, and looking at the NGK's. Prep for Vegas and L.A.

Test fitted my window trim for my back glass. Don't like the fit in some areas. Glad I'm doing this before paint!

Got my white face gauge overlays and LED bulbs in the mail..

Found my set of Turquoise kick panels...man these things are hard to find.... and I have a correct trans cross member on the way to replace the 67 trans member thats in the car now.....don't ask.....!

Hi all, took some skin off my knuckles cleaning out my ac/heater box. Waiting on rebuild kit from DMT to put it all back together again. Had heater and evaporator checked and both ok. Was relieved to hear that. :VB toast:

Now that pegs the kool-o-meter! Probably a great tuning device.

Well...since it was 40 degrees here in mid-MI,I opened the garage door, let the sun shine in(it faces south-sweet!),and got my PS pump and alternator mounted. Installed the valley tray and intake. Got the fan on and the belts tight. I was going to install the radiator, but I RE-E-E-E-E-ALLY want a new unit from Mark 7 Radiators in Bay City,so I'm in a self-inflicted holding pattern till there's some extra $$$. I figure that, new plugs and wires, new power steering hoses and maybe a couple of larger primary jets for the Holley, and I may be able to actually perform my cam break-in. Like, soon.

I'm feelin' like a kid awaiting a new toy-damn I'm ready for Spring!

Charged up the battery, I fired it up, let it get warm, then drove around the block 1.5 miles or so & put it back in the garage, just getting all the fluids going again, not much really... I need to do some major stuff, Caps tubular front suspension & SSBC disc brakes conversion on the front, new Milidon 7qt. low profile oil pan, new custom 3800 175k 10" TQ converter, B&M sfi flex plate & Cheetah Turbo Action manual throttle body, B&M Quicksilver Ratchet shifter, Pro Aluminum products 7075 safety loop, custom 7 gauge panel, fuse block/panel & under dash wiring/electronics {previous owner was a electrical hack artist}, I still need rear gears, lighter drive shaft, CalTracs, Oh yea the body & paint still need finishing... Really all the same stuff, I just finished doing in my other 68 RR, I sold recently, to pay taxes & bill, it's kind of frustrating, I just went thru this, it seems like, I've spent most of the cash already, I need a few more parts & more cash for sure, but mostly I just need to get motivated, I don't much like wrenching in the cold as I'm getting older, maybe it's time for a good garage heater, I already added a bunch of insulation...LOL...

Got the white over lays in and LED bulbs, reassemble next, Then the dash cap.

Detailed the interior--changed the oil (added ZDDP), fired it up and drove it around the neighborhood--put it back on the lift and covered it before the neighbors complained about the Flowmaster 50's. Can't wait for Spring!

Went and bought a new Rallye dash for mine. The one that's in there is in pristine, un-cut, condition and I want to install an aftermarket stereo in the car and didn't have the heart to chop up the dash after it had survived all these years unmolested.
