What did you do to your Mopar today?

I was able to figure out a way to check the fuel pump cam lobe after after my pushrod failure. It had 1/4 inch of lift, which it turns out is all the lift on my old stock cam. No wonder the pump wasn't working since the pushrod was worn down 1/4 inch.

Installed new rack and pinion on Cora. Put the new outer ends on and did a quick wheel alignment, enough to get it to my front-end guy. I've always replaced the entire front-ends on all my cars. For a quick alignment I tie a string to the leafspring, come around the back tire and run the string past the front bumper. I tie it to a floor jack in the up position. I move the jack back and forth till the string just touches the front of the back tire. Then measure the front and back of the front tire from the string to the sidewall. Making the measurement the same. Close enough to get to the shop.

Changing Ring and pinion from 3:73 to 3:21, new brake calipers and pads on front, frame bushings as well as leaf spring bushings. New 4 core aluminum radiator, 180* thermostat, new Equus gauges. Waiting on heat/sound mat and interior carpet.

Still looking for: console, sail panels and a dash/pad.

I washed and waxed my wife's 2009 Challenger R/T classic. It was 14 years ago tomorrow that she bought it out of the dealer showroom. The old girl still looks pretty good for a 14 year old Dodge! It still has the original battery!

Geez! Everybody seemed busy today. Me too! Gave the axels a little blasting and a two tone paint job. That Seymour's cast blast and stainless steel paints dry quick. Seems like good stuff. I have used them a lot on my Charger.

Put the driver seat in for the first time
It has the 6 way adjuster seat track on it
I have the round black spacers on the front seat bolts and none on the back ( did not dig out another 2 for the back just yet )
Think I will try it with none on the front bolts and a couple on the back bolts to get the seat back to tip a bit farther forward and see what it looks like

It reminds me of when I was driving my 70 Charger R/T SE and when I slammed second gear, the seat back snapped and I was laying in the backseat staring at the headliner! Nobody was driving anymore!. I used both feet to slam the clutch and brake pedals to the floor, then shut the car off!

MOPAR "GODS" are taking care of her!!! 2015 SXT w RT pkg, HEMI & 6-spd, on its 3rd battery, 4 years, yea about right. 175k mile on him!! When they go, they go STONE DEAD, not even a starter click.

The beeper started running funny and had a little surging, so I decided to change the plugs. I think I found the problem. Seems to have been running pretty clean before the trouble, but maybe the plug whisperers here can chime in on that.

Not sure how old these are, but I would say definetely from before 1978, as I’ve not changed the plugs since I’ve had it. My choices were NGK or Autolite, I chose the NGK. Pretty happy so far.

.....she looks fine to me.

Started out my investigation of the long-running saga of a rich-running condition I have had for a couple of years or more now. There has never been a better time to sort this out than now, with work slowing down a tad. I have a bit more time to sort things out before work explodes again.

I shot a small video about 2 weeks ago now, and started thinking about what was going on. You can clearly see fuel is flowing in three of the four barrels....I wasn't fully aware of how these things ran until I did a bunch of searching on YouTube and Google. I even contacted the Holley helpdesk to see what they suggested ......there answer is to send it back for repairs. I don't think that will happen with the cost of postage and this thing will stink of fuel in the post. Probably not legal to send overseas now in the post by any method.
Here's my first video.....apologies to @Kern Dog for the portrait orientation. :poke: Can't seem to get that right sometimes.

I did try and reach out to andyf a year back, but got no reply. I have since found enough information to make me dangerous. :p

I helped a friend yesterday put the engine in his 69 Superbee
We lifted the body and set it down over the engine
There are 3 of us in this video
I have the brown shirt
One guy with no shirt
Owner in the yellow shirt
Owner is also in a wheel chair but still gets down on the ground to help line things up
I am mostly running the engine crane on the front of the car to lower the body down over the engine

New front end bushings. Will need a little metal magic on the inner driver’s side. Next: leaf spring bushings and a step done from 3:73 to 3:21 sure grip.

You need a better choice of music.

I took the car out today to gas it up and wash it. It was the first time I drove it since Carlisle, because I had to rectify my fuel pump issues. I calculated the gas mileage on the return trip. The last 2 tanks worked out to over 19 mpg Cdn (16 US). That is pretty good in my books for a 4200 pound car doing 70 mph most of the way.
