I changed the oil, replaced the valve cover gaskets, replaced the air filter. Now it's on to repairing my ball and trunnion universal joint.
I finished it today. 4 years in the making

Country roads.
Here's a fun article that shows some of the differences, advantages and disadvantages of DOT 3, 4 and 5 http://www.xs11.com/xs11-info/tech-...23-the-great-dot-brake-fluid-controversy.htmlNeed a new m/c and trying to decide if I want to switch to DOT 5.
Now's the time. Be nice not to worry about fresh paint getting ruined by a drop of brake fluid.
Seems like there is always an "expert " that can explain it all. I don't know what their motive is, but they are not always right in all cases. For instance, saying Dot 3-4-and 5 are compatable---not true. Maybe the experts should study my experience of 10 years use of DOT 5 and explain why I have had none of the negatives that they claim. Here's a fun article that shows some of the differences, advantages and disadvantages of DOT 3, 4 and 5 http://www.xs11.com/xs11-info/tech-...23-the-great-dot-brake-fluid-controversy.html
See my other reply..............................MOInteresting read.
Author seemed pretty anti-DOT5, and it was from 20 years ago.
Food for thought, nonetheless.
